Extended Warranty

I am pondering a purchase of an extended warranty for my 2004 TL with 53,400 miles. The dealer who I bought this from was offering a 4 year 48K for $2900. I felt like slapping the finance manager at acura 101 west and leaving but I would not get the TL.

My question is this:
Is it worth getting the extended warranty? and where is the best place i can get it? (warrantydirect.com, autowarrantybroker.com, hondacuraworld)

it does not qualify for acura care since it is over 50K miles.

Sooner is cheaper...higher mileage cost you more to get warranty.

For the record, I got bumper to bumper warranty with $0 deductible.

That's too bad, with the odometer lawsuit, you're only 900 miles out of warranty (52500). You might see if they will make an exception. It can't hurt to ask. Or maybe you don't want to ask.....

Here's the deal: If you buy it (an AcuraCare warranty) online, they don't require you to provide proof of mileage (at least they didn't require it for me and I had 48K when I got mine). They will ask you what the mileage is, but don't require proof. What's 900 miles between friends? You just wouldn't want to make a warranty claim the next day and have to explain how you put 900 miles on your car in one day. Good luck! AcuraCare is far better than any of the aftermarket warranties out there.

i really considered doing this, but acuracare warranty qualifier is now less than 50K to get a 4 year 48k miles warranty

^^^If you haven't visited Acura dealer after you hit 50K miles maybe you should lie so that you can get AcuraCare warranty and then wait about a month before you visit them. They record your mileage every time you visit for service.

don't do it. You can just fix your car for the same price or less.
