An excessively dirty car?

Has anyone else noticed that the TL gets dirty very, very easily? A single light rain shower and my wash job is complete toast. Irrepairable. Mud all the way up to the door sills. And that back bumper sill! I could plant flowers on that thing!

Even running through run-off gets things messy.

You guys with mud flaps, any better?

Ahhhh no.

I have the WDP w/flaps. It loves to attract the dirt.

Don't you love how the mismatched bumper/body paint really shows up when dirty...?

Hmmm.... I was thinking just the opposite. The WDP gets dirty just as fast as any other color, but doesn't show the road film as much as other colors do. All IMHO, of course. Several people have remarked about how clean my car looked, even though it'd been a week since it was last washed.

IMO, two colors are tough to keep clean. One is Black, another is White.

My 04TL doesn't look dirty like the way you said... The place to get most dust is the rear bumper. That's it.

It's true. The price we pay for such an understated execution of a sophisticated design is that there's more emphasis on body sculpting than on shiny (and dirt distracting) chrome trim.

The TL has, by far, the dirtiest door-jams and door seals too. Open your drivers side door and take a close look at all the rubber molding around the inside window frame. Look at the paint by the door latch and down by the aluminum kickplate. Never seen anything like it.

My SS hides the dirt really well. It seems to attract road bugs though. The bumper is always full of insect road kills. Or it could be the 80 mph normal crusing speed.

i have SSM it hides the dirt very nicely. but still i like to keep it as clean as possible. the hardest thing to keep clean are the front wheels, especially on a 6MT.

I hate this time of year for exactly that reason.

Desert mist hides any dirt really well. Compared to the black car I used to own its a different world as far as dirt is concerned. The mudflaps really help too.

There is a guy here at work who has white - and while it shows no dust etc. it is littered with blood stains from big bugs and black tar/oil from the road - looks like a real headache to keep clean. My Anthracite is kinda middle of the road. Wife's '02 is black and well, nuff said about that.
