Well, I noticed about a month ago my rear bumper clear coat was peeling a little bit in the corners where the trunk meets the bumper. I didn't really do anything about it, figuring it would eventually stop itself or taper off. There was no paint peel or cracking just clear coat peel. Well, fast forward a month, 4 car washes, a wax and a claying the clearcoat failure has multiplied 10 fold. For some reason it is only effecting the rear bumper. I needed to get an oil change for the car and have the squealing brakes looked at so I took it into the dealer to see what they could do.
Fast forward to yesterday. I talked to my salesperson first and asked what she thought since I didn't have that first place finish protection crap and she said it should be cool and service will take care of it. I went up to the service manager, spoke with him, he looked at the bumper, said he has seen clear coat failure but not complete peeling. He said it may have been something that spilled or whatever, but was real nice about explaining. I asked what he could do, he said they would send it to their body shop, no questions asked. Basically, he agreed with me, saying even though this could be an environmental condition that a 3 year old car should not be peeling like that. He set me up with an appointment and loaner car and I'm good to go now. No charge. We'll see what it looks like when its done. BTW, the new tsx sucks.
Sorry about the long post but I just wanted to say that Bill Gatton Acura of Johnson City, TN has real good service people that tend to listen. Must be that southern culture. I didn't have to argue or even explain myself. I just said, look at that, and the service manager did what he was supposed to do.

Awesome! It's great to hear about good service. Most of the time you only hear about the poor service. I've had some great service with Acura of Orange Park, in Florida. Hope your bumper comes out nice. Any before and after pics??
