OK, I'm pretty sure alot of ppl who responded actually have done something close to that to a loaner before.

Ha! That was a damn fine burnout. I'd be upset if it was my whip, but it's not, so I enjoyed the video. Now I'm starting to wonder if I can do better...

What a F*cking loser, I personally can't stand that crap. I was big in the import scene around D.C. years ago and it always annoyed me seeing someone rip a burnout, whether it was a Supra, a Cobra, or a Focus. Maybe that's b/c I had a 2nd gen AWD Eclipse (rev it, drop it, you're gone), maybe it's b/c the excessive smoke and noise attracted cops, or maybe b/c I simply didn't like being engulfed in a cloud of burnt rubber. To do it in a TL (or any other "family sedan") is the mark of simple entertainment for a simple mind ("ooo!! smoke and noise!! KEWL!!").

For that kind of sh*t you bet I'm a hater, if it required some skill (but it doesn't) I might find it tolerable.

That would make a funny Nationwide commercial. "Life comes at you fast", spot if clutch or brake gave way and had him flying off camera.

I'm sorry to say, but these guys are losers. Why in the world would you treat your car like that (it does look sweet though)
why give them the attention they desperately seek?

<shrug>

Seems like a textbook problem of having too much time and too much money.
Luckily, the problem is self-correcting.

I'm not an expert in burn-outs .. but can't you pretty much pull off a stunt like that in any manual tranny V6+ FWD car? and any RWD car for that matter? I don't know, so someone please enlighten me.

Isn't the guy just lightly laying on the brake to lock the rears and then spinning the crap outta the front wheels by zippin' through the gear?

(oh, for the guy that can't understand anything but english -- is that clear enough for you?)
