Mine seems to do the same....I found that if I lower the temp on the heating/air conditioning system before shutting it off, the air doesn't blow warm any more. Also, you can always turn on the air recycling button and no air will flow at all.

This happens in all cars that I have had. If you turn off the heating/ AC system, it will allow a small amount of fresh air into the car. The fresh air will take the current temp setting. If you are on 'heat' then you get warm air. If you are on 'cool' then you get outside air temp.

On cold nights I've had problem with recycling air because it tends to fog up the windows... I usually just leave the vents open and turn it to the temp I want.

Not recommended! You will have stale air in the car and your windows will fog up if it's humid outside. Recirculating air should only be used for A/C.

If you have frost on your windows:
Put on Defogger and RECIRCULATE and then FAN to HI and TEMP to MAX (not necessary if it is cold out and you have it on auto since it will go there anyway).
THis defrosts the winsheild quickly and painlessly.
