Evap Solenoid Question

Would this throw a CEL.
Specifically P0433 / EVAP solenoid.....

After I got my car back from the shop. I noticed a little bit of lag when applying the gas pedal. ( Transmission rebuild )
I attributed that to the trans needing to go through a break in period.

A week after I get the car back the CEL illuminates.
I literally just pulled out of Chik Fil A and was upset the entire ride home and was hoping the code didnt relate to the transmission.

I finally get home, check the code and it was something about EVAP solenoid. I believe it was P0433. I cleared it and hasnt returned.

Last friday I popped my hood to refill my windshield washer fluid and noticed some rips on my intake boot.

I purchased a new boot from Honda and changed it out and noticed the lag/ hesitation is gone.

Now in the first pic that tube does ultimately route to the Evap Solenoid. So I believe it resolved that code since it hasnt appeared.

My rant:
I'm pissed since this is something that doesnt tear over night.
Before dropping off the car at the mechanic I cleaned my engine bay and didnt see any tears.

Although the trans work done was impeccable. He could of at least told me the boot broke.

Other than that. She's running great,....and she better be for the next 2 years. lol

the plastic boot cracking is typical and happens with heat and age. The boots get damaged easily during removal so it's very possible that the person doing the install didn't notice. I would take the bill to them for the boot and have them pay for it since they damaged it.

Thanks.
I'll talk to the mechanic and see. The tears are a lot worse than what the pictures show.
Which puzzled me why it wasnt noticed.

I'll post an update after I speak with him.
