Ok here is the story,

I was at the ATM the other day, and left my car running and I heard a not so normal sound coming from my car. It was coming from the passenger side by the front tire emitting from the engine compartment. I jacked up my car tonight thinking it was the exhaust, or maybe a loose piece of plastic rattling, but it is coming what seems to be behind my timing belt cover. Its a rattle..very rythmic...not consistently as strong..it goes from light rattle to a heavier rattle.... over and over. I hope this makes sense. If anyone has any explainations..or if they you are having the same noise let me know. When I shut my car off, I can hear a rattle...probably coming from the same place. The cover is tight...just seems to be coming from behind it. Thanks a bunch!!

 

ps.....when I shut my car off..it doesn't stay rattling. Its just when you shut it off.....you can almost hear that there is something slapping around....for a slight second. Just wanted to clear that up...

 

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND ITS PISSING ME OFF. THE ENGINE RATTLES LIKE METAL HITITNG METAL. WHEN I TURN THE STEERING IT MAKES IT WORST. I AM TAKING IT IN TO BE LOOKED AT.
