do folks leave these on?

nothing like opening your hood and there's the sweet looking engine...rather than having to peel of these covers to see the engine.?

 

Taking them off won't hurt anything. Some people take them off, try a search for Inaccurate at his weight loss thread.

I've tried it, you will notice a little more injector noise but that's about it.

 

I think the engine bay looks a lot cleaner with them left on. Modern cars have so many more wires and sensors than cars from the 60's or 70's. Back then the engine bays were alot less cluttered.

 

I'm going to get my engine cover pieces painted in a few weeks.

 

I leave mine on.

 

Mine are off, no real reason, just took alot of crap out that amounted to about 46 pounds, cant hurt I guess lol

 

Very true. The old stuff looks great when it's just a small block and virtually no wiring and a couple of radiator hoses and heater hoses. It's nice looking down and seeing the road in a big open engine bay. The new stuff usually looks better with the covers on.
