Emergency light button

Incorrect---the hazard button DOES light up. There are 2 lights, IIRC---one for the word "HAZARD" and one for the red triangle on the button (that one I am sure about).
To replace, you have to remove the clock/air vent piece and pop the switch out from the rear.
Remember that red + blue = black, if you want to replace with colored LEDs. Use only white on the triangle button part.

I couldn't remember if it said HAZARD or PASSENGER AIRBAG. Thanks for correcting me.
Regardless, the red triangle button does light up.
There is a thread floating around that has videos for removing the center console pieces, but basically, you remove the aluminum trim pieces and use a flat screwdriver or similar wrapped in a MF towel to push up on the front of that piece. It will pop straight up out of the dash. Disconnect two harnesses and you have it removed.
blkaspec--sixsixfour corrected me on what was there. If your hazard button does not light, you have a blown bulb.
Champ-no, we are talking about the 4 way hazard flashers button located in the upper center console area.

DWB could it vary by year? Mine doesn't light up but the passenger air bag thing lights up when I start the car but turns off and doesn't turn on or off regardless of if i have passengers or not....

Right---the airbag warning light is connected to a sensor in the passenger seat that lights up at ignition as a test. If you have a child in the front seat (<50lbs or so) the light will come on, indicating that the airbag on that side has been automatically disabled as a safety feature.
It is a completely different system from the hazard button illumination. I actually replaced the lights for both the PASSENGER AIRBAG and the hazard button itself. The button needs a white LED and I went with blue for the text. I left the warning light itself amber (reads AIRBAG OFF or similar).

i dont know how mine would light up, its just a grey button with red triangles on it. it doesnt appear to have any areas where light would shine through...i guess i have to take a better look once it gets dark out, i may have just overlooked it.
