My emergency brake lever has some side to side play in it when released. When I took my car in for the B1 service today I mentioned this. When the car was ready the service guy said this play was normal. It wasn't like this when new (6 months ago). I just want to make sure the lever doesn't come completely off some day. All your brake levers free from left to right play or do you feel some play? Thanks.

how much side to side movement? if its like 1 mm, prolly not worth worrying about....if its lilke an inch then maybe something is wrong

Mine (05 MT) has some side-to-side but nothing alarming or that would rattle.

 

This should be a good place to put the scans for the parking brake adjustment.
