I recently picked up my 04 TL and love it except for one thing that has become a serious pain. From the front dash area (probably near the navigation screen) there is a high pitch electronic whine that sounds somewhat similiar to a tv screen that is on. However this sound is constant regardless of what the engine is doing and doesn't even stop when the engine is off entirely...

Talked to the dealer and have an appointment scheduled but does anyone here have any ideas what could be causing this?

04 TL SSM/QTZ Auto with Nav

 

I had the same problem, no idea what it is, but it did it even with the radio off and navi not on. Seems the amp is picking up noise from the two high speed LANS in the car (there is a 33.3K and a 500K LAN in the car). Only explination I can think of, but I definately notice it when there is no other noise in the car (engine on or off).

There was anouther thread about this at one time or anouther.

 

Unfortunately mine is loud enough that I can hear it with the radio on if I don't have it turned up very loud. Very annoying and it gives me a headache...

 

I dont hear that noise... or electronic whine... better get that checked

 

when you say high speed LAN you mean there is network connection in the car? hmmmmmm

 

I have an appointment on friday for the dealer to check it out but he had never heard of the problem before so I was just trying to see if anyone here had some information that I could let him know about when he checks out the car. I certainly hope it is something that can be fixed easily...
