Question Blue or silver?

I am about to buy an 04 TL Navi, cant decide between silver on black interior or BLuen on Camel?

Any thoughts?

I like the idea of Blue since I have had silver BMW for 3 years but I think the camel interior may look a little cheap.

What do you think?

I do not like the camel interior. I agree it looks cheap.

Get the blue with the quartz. I almost got that combo. I think the quartz has a nice two-tome effect. It's too bad the blue doesn't come w' black interior though...

Actually IMO the Quartz and Ebony look cheaper than Camel and Parchment. No contrast. But always do what you like.

choose ABP. On the interior, quartz is dull, ebony a cliche. Be daring, choose camel. But either way, on the exterior, ABP or DGP are optimal choices for the more adventurous consumer, which I am not...

i really like the ebony interior, i find it to be much more sporty than the camel. Also the SSM does take on a blue hue in certain light conditions.

I have noticed that ABP is not a common choice of color - that (and the fact that I have wanted a blue car) have led me to the choice of ABP. I think the camel interior does look a little cheap and "orangey" (if that is even a word). So I'll be going for the ABP + Quartz interior.

Whatever your choice be sure you are comfortable staring at it for the next few years!

I would get the ABP with Quartz. That's the combo I wanted, but my dealer couldn't bringing it in soon enough. I ended up getting black/quartz the day it came into the lot, and I love it too. Quartz is the best interior color IMHO; it makes the interior feel roomier, and it keeps cool in the sun. Blue TL is an awesome car!

Blue is a great choice. Although I disagree on the interior. But hey 1 out a 2 ain't bad.

I have a ABP w/ quartz. the color combo is awesome epsecially with the blue dash lights. It has such a sporty feel. my CL was green with parchment which seems like 180 degrees from where I am now. I am now thinking about the blue LEDs to complete the interior look of the car.....

Silver/black the easiest color combo to maintain. Blue is a nice color, but the camel is one you'll need to see- many think it looks too orangish (I agree)

Get the Blue with quartz. The silver/ebony is too common and too blah / monochromatic.

The blue is a really, really nice color, but I had a similar blue in my '01 CL-S and it is a pain in the a to keep clean and swirl free.

Just saw the blue at a dealership (getting mine serviced) and I liked it. However, I'm not a fan of the look/quality of the other interior colors (I chose ebony interior, simple and classy).

Quartz: Too Honda gray
Camel: Too orange
Parchment: Doesn't mate well with interior lines/colors

As for exterior... if you're trying to decide on Blue or Silver? Blue, cause the Silver is too Honda.

No offense to any Silver ext. or Quartz, Camel, Parchment int. owners, but I think Acura could have done a better job on the distinctive color/quality to further separate it from the Honda line.

Not that NBP and Ebony are far from the Honda line. But, come on, black is always cool.

I think the Blue with the Camel interior would look better. Too bad that the Parchment isn't available.

Just my opinion.

Lightbulb In the heat of the night

I love the blue. It was my second choice after black. My Jeep Wrangler is black and it's not a problem to keep looking nice- although there's not a lot of metal surface to keep clean.

If you want to look like everyone else and you don't live in a warm/hot part of the country, go with the dark interiors. I think they are boring but that's just me.

I like the way Parchment looks but it is a little too high maintenance for my usage. That brings us to Camel.

I don't see any "orange" at all in Camel. I see shades of natural or "saddle" leather. It reminds me of expensive, classic sports cars with names like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Jaguar, etc. Plus, it is darker enough in tone to make cleaning up a weekly or bi-weekly chore instead of daily- which I myself would be doing with black OR parchment to keep it looking good.

Silver/black is the most popular and safest- if those are your goals.

If you want to explode upon the scene and say, "Hey! Look at me!", go for the blue/camel. Live a little!

I had a silver/ebony TL-S and now a Green/Parchment '04 TL. Each looked great, I like the '04 better becuase it has color, silver and black is not a color.

It is ultimately your decision, look at the Blue with both the quartz and the Camel interior, the woodgrain looks cool with the Camel/Parchment.

There is a lot of black (dash/doors/console) in the Camel interior, and a must get accessory is the black all-season mats which adds more to the great contrast scheme

Since your in Canada, you are limited to the combinations. I am also in T.O., and previously had the NBP/Ebony 00TL. The NBP acutally had a blue tinge to it in the right sunlight, and with all the dirt and grit thrown on Toronto roads, the swirl marks were a pain to look at. I hear also that the Camel is difficult to keep clean especially in winter due to wetness/dirt from leather jackets soiling the light colour interior. My suggestion is if you are going with a these two colours only, choose the Silver/Ebony. However if you consider non-Navi, I personally would go for Anthracite/Ebondy/6MT.

Excuse me? What's a "jacket"?

Weather is a consideration in choosing an interior. Unless you know where to get asbestos shorts, dark interiors are a no-no around these parts. Jumping in to a black leather interior with a bathing suit and no shirt would weld us to the seat on a hot day.

Abyss Blue all the way. You will rarely run into another one on the road, unlike silver. I've had mine for over 6 months and have yet to run into another ABP TL on the road or parking lot. I only wish they made the blue a little lighter, more like an ocean blue rather than a midnight blue.

Ditto - I got ABP/Quartz 2 months ago, and I love it! Not sure why Acura chose not to offer Parchment with the blue exterior, and the Camel's definitely too orangey for me, :yack: but I think the Quartz goes well with the silver & black touches in the interior. Also, I agree with the person (I forget who) who posted awhile back, in a different thread (um... I forget which), saying that the TL just screams to be painted blue! Blue(ish) HID headlights, blue-tinted mirrors, blue lights on the dash... and I love the contrast with the bright red tail lights - very patriotic! And yes, I made a conscious effort to use only blue smiley-faces in this post. :lol2:
