Good post.

Here is my status at 1 year: 30K KMs/19K miles, 2 Type A, 2 Type B services, 1 set of wipers. Minor: Annoying +50mph wind noise at top of driver side window. Twice they have ripped apart door panel and comes back after a week. A little DVD action quickly cures the problem.

A little lower city mileage but better on highway. Probably AT in the demo car.

Happy TL'ing!

Typical Edmunds though - the car lacks off the line power? Not mine. Wide, low profile tires tend to follow road grooves? Duh!!! I average 25mph in my suburban driving.

Poor stereo rating

Why is the TL stereo only rated number 6 on their list of top 10 car sound systems?

Top 10 Sound Systems in Cars Over $30,000

I haven't heard the Mark Levinson system in the Lexus, but I have heard the system in the S500 and it was ok... and Pro Logic in the Volvo? How many recordings have Pro Logic encoding?

I think the ELS system in the TL is phenomenal, maybe Edmunds just hasn't had time to re-sort their list.

" Also, in some highway driving situations, the tires have a tendency to follow the grooves in the pavement. One editor reported that on a couple of occasions maneuverability was compromised to the point that the wheels seemingly began to lock."

Have any of you felt that? I know I havent...and if I ever did I wouldnt think it a minor issue...

I don't sweat the stuff that has to do with the tires because I'll eventually replace them with something better.

I just want to make sure they don't have any significant problems and so far so good.

"And as it sometimes comes down to splitting hairs (as well as considering the somewhat subjective nature of stereo evaluations), there is no ranking in this list. "
