Vibration @55MPH

A friend of mine who owns a TL is experiencing a few problems with his 2004 TL. Does anyone experience a subtle vibration through the steering wheel and the seats when you are driving between 55 and 65? The dealer claims it's not a balance issue, but rather flat spots in the tires when they are cold. The problem is the vibration does not go away when the tires are warm.

I have it - but mine goes away once I warm them up...noticing it again more now as cold weather settles in...usually goes away after a few miles
