Ebay Switchbacks

picked these up for a best offer of $35 although I think he might go slightly lower.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/280743828850...#ht_2458wt_698

install went ok..I purchased the load resistors he was selling as well, I only bought 2 but he sent me 4? Most likely an error but oh well.

They work great and are pretty bright, but don't match my stock HIDs, they seem to be about 5500 - 6000k.

sorry about the video...it kept freezing in spots, no idea why but thats what i have:

Looks good. I've been considering switchbacks but I don't want to end up with amber blinkers that are too dim to be seen during the day. With 80 amber LEDs, I would imagine this would be plenty bright during in sunlight, but what is your opinion on that?

And are those stock type-s headlights you have them in?

Hey Philly, got a link to the ones you bought? Or are they the same ones posted here? If they are 5500 - 6000k, they would probably be a decent match to my LED DRLs actually, that seems to be about what the iJDMTOY set looks like.

I'm thinking I may pick these up and then be done modding for awhile. How is the install, pretty easy?

I was thinking about the ones you have actually, I remembered you had 120s. But did you have switchbacks or just 120 amber LEDs?

Either way, I think this are going to be the ones I go with. I don't see myself paying the $80 for v-leds any time soon, and I think these may be brighter anyway.

Just 120 amber LEDs =)

They are bright as hell.

No way to really tell unless you compare LEDs side by side though.

So we have one set that is 80 dedicated amber and 40 dedicated white, and one set that is 60 dual color. I wonder if one type is any better than the other.

Awesome, thanks for the update. Were the resistors from that seller easy to install?

yep, you might want to do that relay mod instead? But the ones he has are easy to install. black wire from resistor goes to the neg on the signal harness, red wire goes to the turn signal wire..i believe it's black/blue on the driver and white/black on the pass. it should be the two opposite ends of the harness not the middle pos lead.

OK, so I just ordered the same bulbs as the OP. My offers of $30 and $33 both got declined, it looks like $35 is as low as he will go. But shipping is free, and I plan on doing the relay mod, so no resistors required.

Looking forward to getting these in, and then leaving the damn car alone for awhile.

Anyone happen to have an extra .12 ohm resistor for the relay mod?

I was thinking of doing that to my '08 CBP 6MT TL-S. How hard was it to switch out/take apart your headlights? I've always feared that I will have moisture seep back into the lights after I did it.

From what I remember reading, you can change the turn signal bulbs thru the wheel wells. No need to take apart the headlights.

I also installed LED DRLs by going in thru the engine bay - no moisture issues from that either.

Haha, gotcha. I'm in the same boat as you actually. I hate the amber, but it makes me nervous that I would screw up the headlights somehow.

I didn't receive the fog bulbs yet. Shoulda been here but oh we'll, playing the waiting game. I'll post the pic after I get and install the bulbs. Hope they match up. But for the install I shoulda ordered everything before I did my head lights. The pass side was easy enough since there is really nothing in the way and the wire stretched out far enough to work with but the driver side was a bitch. Had to unplug from the wheel well and then pull the wiring down far enough to work with. I did it without removing the battery. Might be easier but i didn't feel like doing all the presets again.
