eBay Roof Spoiler Installation Question

Hey guys so I ordered this roof spoiler for my car:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/290750422031...84.m1423.l2649

I received the item today and the directions for installation state to apply glue (provided) onto the double side tape adhesive (supposedly 3M double side tape). My question for those that ordered the same type of spoiler, was the glue necessary for it to hold properly or the is the double side tape adequate? Kinda don't wanna use any glue on my car.

that glue is pure junk, don't use it.

i would use the 3m tape provided AND a nice bead of window weld in between. it won't go anywhere.

if you just use the tape, after a few rains, car washes, etc...dirt and soap and water will get in between and cause it to lift off and eventually not stick whatsoever.

I will second that glue being junk. Go buy some clean silicon adhesive and call it a day.

Buy some VHB tape to replace the tape that comes installed on there. Mine began to sag in the corners and I was able to lift it up very easily. I haven't had any issues with the VHB installed.

So i got the same one and did it on my car. I used the glue, which is pretty much silicone and it worked fine and hold very very tight. It was cold when I installed it and I used a heat gun on the spoiler and window before I attached them and once they connected it stuck very good. Been a few weeks now and still super solid

K Squared, I used two layers of double sided tape quite a few years ago and still have no problems whatsoever.

I used the glue, it held but it got everywhere, very hard to clean off, there is still some on my car almost a year later.

when i had the rear windshield replace, it was very difficult to remove the glue off the spoiler.
my recommendation, use two strips of 3M double sided tape.

I was thinking of using this:

I would think it's strong enough to hold on good

Where did anyone get the VHB tape? Is it available for cheaper than the $25 rolls on Amazon? Roof spoiler is all I will need it for.
