The news said it cut a couple of new inlets through the Outer Banks and washed out NC-12 in several spots. But the same thing happened in 2003 during Hurricane Isabel and they just filled in the new inlets and rebuilt the road. No doubt they'll do the same this time. I understand the need for the people there to have access, but at what point does fighting nature and the ocean become a fool's errand?

I live in north jersey up on a mtn, so no flooding here. But Rte 23 & 46 both closed, Hamburg Turnpike closed, basically the whole area is shut off. I can only stay up this way.

sac isn't bad. it can get hotter than hell there in summer though...dry heat...after living on the east coast...dry heat is a treat! traffic isn't as horrendous in sac area as LA.

Also the other pic with the storm approaching town is pretty epic/scary.
