E30 S50 vs E36 M3 vs Altima SE-R
Had some pretty good runs last night with some older Beamers, all very clean and very healthy.
E30 had an S50 swap with a 325is tranny, 3.73 gears with exhaust and the E36 M3 looked somewhat stock, I believe it had intake and exhaust.
1st run: I ran the E30 S50 from a dig and to my surprise I got the jump on him with very little wheel spin. My clutch didn't like the 4000rpm feathered launch, but I managed stayed ahead by a fender until shifting into 4th.
2nd Run: Ran the E30 from a 60 - 110 roll, he pulled me by 1 1/2 car until we shut off in the middle of 4th.
3rd run: All 3 of us lined up and ran from 60 - 100, I managed to pull a fender on the E36 M3 and the S50 stayed ahead usual.
Overall, the runs were fun and safe. It's making me want an E30 325is for the twisties now
How she sits as of yesterday:
Mods: Y-pipe, LW Flywheel, Mossy catback, Nismo Intake and lowered on springs.

I think it was the 3.0 w/ a 5 speed, not sure though.
I don't do a lot of races, but if I happen to get any on film I will post them up.

The US s50/52 is great (can make tons of power with forced induction), but we got the shaft compared to the euro & 45 Canadian imports.

Don't RSXS have like 4.37 gears, compared to the M3s tall 3.23? Your car also has an extra gear and a higher redline to compensate for the short gearing (not to mention weight advantage).

I've run 3 different NA E36 M3's, that was the quickest one, all resulted in wins. One of the cars is setup for road racing though, he has bolt ons but no tune, weight reduction and 3.46 gears

I don't think the hp/torque advantage is going to be enough to keep up with your car. Less weight isn't much of an advantage from a roll, so we can throw that out the window, but you still have gears, redline, & areo (it's not always about power or a bigger engine).
