DULL Leather Interior

I'm having a real hard time trying to GLOSS the dull leather interior. A car enthusiast says I need to get it treated. I've tried the store bought leather shiner (Black Cherry), and it dulls right back as soon as I sit in it. The 2nd generation TL's had that nice natural gloss without shining it up. Anyone have any suggestions....

I dunno, I use Lexol Leather Conditioner - and it doesn't make it glossy but it does keep it soft.

Do a search for leather care and you will find some stuff.

BTW Welcome to the forums. If you get a min. sign in! Post pics!

I use Pinnacle Leather conditioner 1st, then 303, then Pinnacle again.

I dont like the glossy look. i think it looks cheap...kind of like Pontiac leather YUK
But that IMHO :-) no offense

Yea - I don't like teh glossy look either. (Just my opinion). I think it was Jerky who said he liked the Zaino leather in a bottle. I have heard GREAT things about it.

If you search, I have a poll somewhere here about which leather care products people use..... I will try to find it for you.

Lexol was the post popular; however, there were several "others." Read through the thread you will see what people liked the most.

My problem might solve yours. I tried Meguiar's Gold Class Rich Leather Wipes to moisten and protect my leather. I tried it first on the back seats and they came out in a high gloss. This is not what I wanted. Now my back seats are glossy and the fron seats are not. Does anyone know how I might get rid of the gloss?

I would be careful with the "high gloss" protectants for the leather, especially on the front seats. The reasoning behind this is that the gloss or shine is typically created through the use of silicon. I don't particularly like protectant wiping off on my clothes (which is what will happen) and prefer to stay with non gloss products (lexol , 303 etc).

Perform a simple test. Apply a 'gloss' product to the seating section of one of the rear seats (liberal amounts), then enter/exit/sit on the seat. After sitting examine how much is still on the seat, and how much is now on your clothing.

I call this the Armor All complex. You can see bad examples on most of the used cars in today's market. Once the dealer takes delivery, they apply Armor All to every surface of the car (mistakingly equating shine with newness or value). I run from these cars when I see them.
