The dreaded “click” at ignition try.

Several times over the past couple weeks when I have tried to start my 06 TL the dash lights come on, but it will not crank. With that sinking feeling in my stomach, I wait a few seconds and try again and it cranks up just fine.

Is there anything easy to check for this issue? The check engine light is not on.

Thanks, John

In my case it was as @thoiboi said, new starter fixed it.

On my previous 07 Type-S, a new ignition switch fixed the issue.

You should keep a voltmeter handy, and maybe a jumpstarter if you’re living decently alone.
