Down Payment on 05 TL
Down Payment on 05 TL
I live in Southern California (Orange County) and I was wondering if anyone on this forum has placed a deposit on an '05 TL. I have called several Acura dealers in the area to inquire as to when the '05s will be on sale. The responses have ranged from one salesman telling me the car would be on sale around mid-September to another dealership saying that the car won't be on sale until November. Also, they are saying the price increase on the '05s will range anywhere from a couple hundred dollars to easily over $1K.
For those of you (if anyone) who did place a deposit on an '05, did you have to finalize the deal (the numbers, that is) before you did so. Thanks for the comments.

Dealer by dealer, some ask to finalize deals in order to get your order in queue. Others just ask deposit for the right to reserve one of their future allocation.
No real "official" or "confirmed" info about 05TL yet.

I put $500 down on a 2005 and agreed on the amount that would come off list price. My dealer already knew what he was getting in the first batch as far as colors. Said mine would be built around third week in September, expected here in October.
Thanks

Thanks again - I really appreciate it!!
Looking at getting an '04 but considering waiting. Went looking tonight and the sales guy I spoke to said the dealer had recently received information on new changes on the '05 Acuras but nothing came through on the TL yet. I asked if he heard anything on a tire upgrade and he didn't think they would be changed).
He also said it seemed like the price would stay the same (delivery went up slightly a few weeks back even on the '04's) which seemed unusual. His response was that they simply not be discounting the '05s at all for a few months.
Anyway, what do people think is reasonable for an '04 AT/NAV at this time. He grudgingly seemed to be willing to get down to $33,000, but I don't anticipate him going below that. I see some people who think at or below invoice should now be attainable - has anyone had any recent luck with this? (In Jersey in particular.) Should I take my business elsewhere?
