Door panel moves when window is rolled up
I was wondering if this is normal. When I roll up my driver's side window to the top, I can see the entire door panel (while sitting) tighten up. The whole panel moves as if the alignment was off. I did not notice it on the other windows. The other thing that makes me believe that this is not normal is that when I close the door with the window half open, it makes a clanking sound. Again, is that normal? Has anyone noticed that same thing?
While I do not think its a serious problem, I am worried about the long term and that it might not be good for my tint.
Thanks
-Andy

Did it do it before the tint was installed? Sounds like the tint place might not have put it back on right. Either way, you should go to the tint place or the dealer and get it checked out because it is definitely not normal.

The window of my driver side door, (I don't know other windows), is originally tight with its strips of rubbers when window is up completely. If I roll it down, the window will retract inside a little bit and smoothly go down(u will see the space between rubber strip and window). If rolling up, the window will be pushed outside and tightened up again.
IMO, this should be normal if we talk about the same thing. This makes windows easily up and down and ensures the window will not loosen up and make noise when it closes.
BTW, I don't like to close the door with windows down, it always sounds bad.

Could someone please check their drivers side door to see if they notice the inside door panels moving when the window closes? I brought it to the dealer and they told me it was normal. I would really appreciate if someone could double check. Thanks!

Look, it's really very simple. You got a problem on your TL? No, YOU DO NOT. It's just NORMAL operation of the vehicle, OK?
Vibrations - normal. It's the exhaust resonance, stupid. B flat minor with D sharp transitions, I believe.
Rattles - these are normal also. Designed into the car to make it more flexible in a wide range of temperatures. Some kind of new technology called "living plastic" if I'm not mistaken. Why fight the rattles? Give into them. They actually produce a nice African drum rhythm that harmonizes perfectly with the exhaust resonance.
Misaligned panels - not at all abnormal. Enhances the centrifugal axis of aerodynamic protuberance. Also adds a nice shimmy to the shakes, rattles, and rolls. It's like having a rock band in your car, and that's before you turn on the ELS!
Door panel moving - more of the living plastic. The panel actually experiences orgasm when you roll the window up.
It's all NORMAL, people. Everything is fine. Just relax, drive, and enjoy the car!
