Door Locks?

So i set the keyless memory settings so that my car does not automatically lock or unlock...its a little wierd because everytime we unlock the car, it wants to do something different. Today, I was getting gas, i had the key in accessory and i shut the door to pump. I didnt notice that the car locked me out! how embarrassing. I was at costco on a saturday too which really made me look like a dumbass...i keep setting the memory settings so that we manually lock and unlock and it keeps going back to the 10 m.p.h. setting. Why is that? Guess i have to ALWAYS have the keys with me at all times.

That's why if I leave the engine running I always crack the window just in case. Are you leaving the keys in with the engine off while pumping fuel?

Its really confusing...after having it for a little over a month, i never had the problem with the car locking me out with the key inside...so wierd

There's a known issue with it forgetting it's memory settings (seats, mirrors, AC and radio settings). I don't think it affects the door lock/unlock memory portion but it may be worth a glance at some of the older threads on this. I can't remember what the cure is.

I've done that at least 5 times with my parent's Mazda MPV when i first started driving. I felt so stupid. They had to bring a spare key for me. lol.

I had a similar problem. My dad is driver 1 and I am driver 2. When he drives the car, it changes to his setting, and then back to mine when I drive. Sometimes, when it changes back to my setting, my left mirror resets for some off reason.
What you can try to do is unlink the key, so your key will not be linked to a specific driver.

Gah. I fear that every time I'm at the car wash drying my car off afterward and I close the door while the car is running. Makes me paranoid.

Do you have your own remote fob, the driver 2 remote, linked to the car?
If so, then the car's seating, mirror, radio, MID and A/C settings will move to your presets when you use the remote to unlock the door. The MID settings include the door lock/unlock and interior light duration options.

However, if you don't use the driver 2 remote, pressing the "2" memory button on the driver's door will only change the driver's seat and mirror positions, while the radio, MID and A/C settings will remain set for the person who last used a linked remote.

no i use the same key and hit two just to move the mirrors and seats for myself because shes so short! but your explanation makes sense...and even when she got in, she said she shut the door and it locked quickly but i set and checked the MID several times to not do so. Its kind of ridiculous but i guess we just have to keep the key in hand at all times. I do love the simplicity of my CL in situations like this.

I had this problem on my 07 TL-S. I would link the fob to the car, program the settings, exit the menu. Just to be sure that they saved, i went back in the menu to double check and they had reveryed back to the previous settings...

With that said, I then linked the key back to the car, changed my personal settings for my driver 1 fob again, took the key out of the ignition and locked then unlocked the car while still in the driver seat (without opening the door).

Looked through the menu again and it saved all my setting. I dont know if locking and unlocking the car after programming actually matters but it seemed to work for me. Hope this helps
