Door handle lights

I must be getting old, but my geezer eyes can still find the handle without a ight, the key slot, and my wife's - well, you get the picture. Or does Gen-whatever like need panties with an arrow?

You guys are all missing the greatest mod. The groove along the side is a perfect place for neon lights. Pick a color to complement your car color and have them come on when the ignition is turned on or the door is unlocked. Or make each of the 4 lights a different color for real distinction. Then when you are taking friends for a ride in the car you can tell them-you go in the door with the green light, you go in the one with the orange light, etc.
And everyone would know it was you when you drove by.

How about a Blue Acura caliper "A" in the shift knob? If not that, then a blue skull with red eyes?

Off-topic but a related "who needs it?":
I went to see the new Mustang, as I am considering the next Cobra (with between 400- 500 HP and as much torque) when it arrives in 2006. The salesman gushed over the new dash backlighting, which has practically "endless combos, to match your mood, your outfit (I kidunot), the event, or the season". The look of dumbstruck on my face must have been something he had not expected (it was probably not mentioned in the "suggested sales conversations) in the annual new car intro book they float around. He had his mojo working, but it just don't work on me.
Ford put a lot of money in providing the ability to mix and match colors on the instruments' backlights - millions and millions. I guess it shows the power of female buyers, or that bling-bling has more impact than I ever guessed, or that Ford's sales plunge is well-deserved. From what i can see on the svtperformance.com site, I am not the only one who doesn't get it.
the rest of the car is very nice. and the handling on the GT I drove was much tighter than the current SVT Cobra. 300 HPin the base GT is damn impressive for a car in the lower 20's. The solid axle tracks as well as any such design can, with the Panhard bar doing its job of helping to locate the rear suspension geometry under various angles and loads. I think this will be a big succdess for Ford, and make the likelihood of a new Camaro even less probable than it was before. Ford kicked GM's tail in the pony-car market, even with a 30-YO platform. (And it reassuringly shows me that there is still demand for a no-nonsense muscle car, even in the 21st century).
One other thing - it did not have doors that light up.

As I recall, the last-gen BMW 7-series had such a light under the exterior door handle. It was a soft white that came on with the dome light to more easily locate the door handle. Not much bling there, but a practical mod.
