Does your TL do good in the snow?
We are getting A LOT of snow here in Ohio. Just went to the store a little bit ago & was surprised that the TL did as good as it did on these horrible roads.
as long as you have either snow tires or really good A/S tires, it handles just fine.
although I typically drive with VSA turned off because I like to feather the gas as I see fit in the snow. When I still had my automatic '05, I actually couldn't get up a hill with light snow on it due to VSA utterly killing the power to both wheels. My car almost started to go backwards until I turned off VSA and got it up the hill myself.

No matter what winter tires you have - if the roads are bad, the roads are bad.
I have brand new Blizzak LM-60s

Pulled over to see if this woman was okay and ended up going in myself.

Look at the road! It doesn't look that bad! But I guess the car slid right after it hit the dirty snow.

It's a decent car in the snow. Not great, but not horrible.

i dont drive during winter because of how badly my TL performs. It doesn't help that i live in an area with a lot of hills and no plows go through here.
Utah has the best snow for the mountains, not the valleys.

I have the Pirelli Carving Edge on my TL here in Toronto.
Haven't had much snow this year but the tires are 4 years old and have seen approx. 50km/30k miles and still maintain control.
I always turn VSA off in the snow like other Azine members, I find it dangerous at times as well because of the immense power loss.
Hope there wasn't much damage to the car guitarplayer.
Other than purposely accelerating/decelerating aggressively, for me, the car rarely slides unless driving on a lot of snow/ice.
But no matter the vehicle or tire, as guitarplayer said, if the roads are bad enough, nothing can help it.
I don't know about you 6mt guys, but my dad used to have an AT 3G and I found his ABS didn't go off as often as did my 6mt.
Would anyone agree that maybe the Brembos would trip the ABS faster because of its better stopping power? - In the snow

Drove in the snow for the first time today with the TL, did well like I figured it would since it is a FWD.
Only problem I had is where not many cars have gone and the snow was higher then the TL....still pulled through like a boss, Though I agree VSA sometimes makes it worse.

Mine does alright, it has summer tires which doesn't help. I try to stay off the roads during snow storms ever since I sold my truck, but if I need to be somewhere the TL does just fine for what it is.
Car did great this morning when I headed to work out in Ogden, while there though the snow built up and that is where It was at some points higher then the car lol but still did well. Did great on the way home as well just had an issue with getting up my driveway It was all icy and slightly up hill and VSA slowed my momentum but once VSA was off I got up just fine.
Damn so much snow! I never get to see that in SoCal! I'm curious to see how it feels driving in snow. I mean I have driven on some mountains here that had snow but its not much only a bit. All we get here is sunshine and clear skies all the time lol. I mean its December right now and it wasn't even that cold.
I have the P zero's there not bad at all
Mine does with factory tired, even in mountain passes where other cars would drive off road. The point is to drive slow and stead, I'm no expert drive but I never had problems.
Only time it did slide on me was once downhill but it was my fault totally daydreaming or something I braked hard and yea it slid, luckily no car was coming and I just turned and kept going.

My TL does OK in the winter. I'm running Pirelli Sottozeros and for the most part I have no issues. Surprisingly, my Integra GS did way better in the snow than my TL. It was a great little car in the winter.
Here's my .02cents.
Location: MN
Years driven in snow: 5+ years
Tire: All Season Potenza RE960's 80k miles AND Cooper Weathermaster ST/2
After 5 years of Potenza A/S tires the car handles on a scale of 1 - 10, a 4 even in light snow conditions.
After my 1.25years on the Cooper Snow tires - car handles around a 7-8 out of 10. The difference is night and day.
Just use your brain and leave plenty of stopping distance and you will do fine. Tires is what grips the roads. So tread carefully.

Been running all weathers just fine... But it is Salt Lake. Its not really the worst winters but certain roads can be bad. I find that careful driving and close observation of the road surface can do wonders. To be fair I used to drive around in Logan Utah and the weather there was bad but I still did just fine...
I'm running the Dunlop Wintersport M3's and they are pretty good. But again, whenever it snows, I take it slowly and the car cruises through snow. I tell everyone the same thing....even with snow tires, you'll have to take it slow. A lot of people think having snow tires mean they can speed in snow....
lol i had those blizzak lm60's on my grand prix gxp they are horrible i will never buy blizzak again on my 05 tl i have kuhmo snow tires i forgot what there called but they are a beast was going in a foot of snow like it was nothing!

Performance is all relative to driving performance and tires.
Can't break physics.
Like GP said, if the roads are bad... then it's bad.
Just gotta remind yourself to take it slow. And that means slower driving, slower lane changes. Can't forget about early de-acceleration followed by early braking.
@GP, totally forgot that happened to you!

I have the I-pike snow tires on mines and the she does great during winter. (MN here) But like some members had said. Even with snow tires you should still: take it slow and granny it because black ice is what get's the best of everyone that drives fast in the Winter time.
I have had my General Altimax Arctic's for several seasons now. Been the best bang for the buck for winter tires. I have had blizzaks and whatnot on previous cars. These tires win so far.
Just checked tirerack -- looks like they are sold out for the season already.
