Does Your Dealer Give You a Loaner?

I am a service advisor for Acura at Bill Gatton and I dont usually put a loaner out for just an oil change because it will be done in an hour including clean-up. If we put loaners out for oil changes then we dont have any for big repairs and warranty work. If it's a good customer or someone I know i will give them a loaner but mostly for oil changes I try not to, thats why we have a shuttle service.

I've always gotten a loaner when I bring in my TL. Usually wind up with a TSX, but once in a while I get a TL. Recently bought a used 07 MDX and have had it in twice for warranty service. First time got a brand new 09 TSX and second time got an 08 MDX.
Overall very happy with Acura of Boston!!

I always got a RSX loaner, or a no-charge rental (Thrifty Rental?) from Smithtown. If I needed a loaner it was usually more than a week wait. But that was more than two years ago when I still had the '01 CL-S.
The TL hasn't seen the dealer since it left. I guess their loaner pool has changed since then.

Smithtown Acura will ALWAYS give me a loaner, ONLY AN ACURA, TSX, MDX, TL or RDX...no RL's or RSX's though...
The only caveat is, if I call for service within 1-2 days, they will say "well if you want a loaner, you'll have to bring it on xxxxxx day"....which usually is a few days after I wanted to but its ok. NOW I just call way ahead of time to ensure that I get a loaner.

I used to go to Rallye Acura in Roslyn, New York because they are the closest dealership to where I live. They have NEVER given me a loaner car! Even when my TL was there for a couple of days getting major work done, I had to hitch a ride. They totally market themselves as though buying a car from Rallye Acura entitles you to membership in an exclusive, snobby club, far superior to others. In reality, they are a bunch of shit throwing monkeys, and to top it all off, they refused to replace one of the engine mounts because they claimed it wasn't covered under warranty even though Acura Care told me it was supposed to be covered. There's some schiestering at work there. Thanks to you two, I will be giving my future business to Smithtown Acura where it is deserved!

I purchased my 04 TL from Smithtown Acura and could write rant miles long about how unprofessional/unhelpful they've been.
Anytime I wanted any service done and called for my "courtesy" loaner, they'd tell me WHEN they had a loaner available. Usually it would be weeks from the time I was calling.
I switched to Bayshore Acura and have been SO pleased with their professionalism and assistance. I dropped my car off for a simple 1 day service and they gave me an 09 TSX to keep for 3 days!

i typically take my car in for service on my days off so I usually wait for them to fix it even if it is a couple of hours. I have a good relationship with my dealer and they will provide a loaner if i ask them to but I only ask for one when they need to keep the car a few days.....
07 TL when car was in for oil change crossover pipe and ball joints and brake job
08 TL when trans was replaced
09 MDX when trans problem could not be reproduced
10 TSX when ball joints were replaced again and front brakes and trans was inspected had the loaner for about 4 days and they stated acura will extend my trans warranty by 2 years or 21K (the balance of 3/36K warranty)

I'm hard to please so Smithtown Acura had it's work cut out for them and simply didn't deliver in ANY aspect. If they didnt' have the exact car I wanted, I wouldn't have even dealt with them in the first place. Horrible experiences!
Bayshore is worlds different. It really shows that all dealerships are individually owned and operated. Bayshore has truly surprised me and left me a VERY happy customer!

Open Road Acura of Wayne, NJ always gives me a loaner for anything taking over 1-1.5 hours of labor. They reserve saturdays mainly for maintenance so any type of service done on the vehicle will have to be during the week. As we speak my 07 TL is in for service, the side mirror switch went bad and i have the infamous subwoofer rattle on the back deck. They gave me an 09 TSX/w Tech & Backup sensors as a loaner for the time being. I've had the loaner for 2 days now. They DO however ask if you're 25 years old or older for the loaner, which I am. I don't believe you need a loaner for something as simple as an oil change though.

I took my 18 year old integra in for them to replace my drivers side seat belt under warranty and they gave me a free fully loaded 2008 TL as a loaner for a week. I didn't pay a dime for anything. This was from South Coast Acura in Costa Mesa, CA. I've always had good experiences there.

I haven't had my car in for service to often, but the few times that I have, yes, the dealership has provided a loaner to me. One of the times I took 08 TL-S in was for the PS hose recall, and they provided me a brand new, I think, MDX Turbo. That was a nice as hell SUV. This last time I took my car in, for a broken front passenger window regulator, they gave me a new TSX. So, overall, I happy with the service that I have received at my local dealership, Montano Acura, in ABQ, NM.

it's a car-drive it
do not having any problem getting a loaner car. I do give the dealer advance notice when I need one. In fact I will be getting one on the 21st and keeping it overnight when my tsx gets the power steering recall done + other service. I was given a choice of what acura I wanted. I chose a tsx withtech.

my dealer provides loaners only if the service is going to take more than an hour and half or 2 hrs. i always end up with a TSX. otherwise, for an oil change, you wait. if you have an A1 service plus some other things that take more time....then i most likely would get a loaner.
so bottom line...the more time to work on your car, the increased likelihood of getting a loaner without asking. it also sounds like it also depends on the area you live in and how big the dealership is.

dropped off my 06 tsx yesterday to get the power steering recall+a few other things done. Was supposed to get a 2010 tsx w/ tech but it had not been returned so I now have use of a 2010 TL. Will be returning it last this afternoon.

I bought my car from Acura of Orange Park in Jax, FL and they always gave me a loaner car. I always seemed to get a '10 TSX V6. Here in Tally, they barely ever give loaners and they are always running behind on repairs. So I guess it depends....
