Does the TL have battery drain problem

I just got a 08 type S and from reading some posts here , it seems like it has battery drain issue . How do I prevent this problem and make the battery last longer? Thanks.

Only some cars have the battery drain issue, and if I am not mistaken, it was more prevalent with the earlier 3G models with an early design HFL unit. Your 2008 has a different design unit which, while not 100% problem free, seems to be much more stable than say, the unit in my car. That said, if you are not having a drain issue, don't lose any sleep over being proactive about trying to prevent it; if it happens, unplug your HFL and the issue is likely to go away.

I mean, how to prevent the drain to make the battery last longer, not the car.

08 or not lol. Mine "new" 08 TL has 48k miles on the clock and the HFL bite the dust, however it surprise me no battery was drained as I discover the unit still plug in.

I wouldn’t worry too much about he battery drain. My HFL is still plugged in but refuses to do anything and I *knock on wood* haven’t had a battery drain since I got the car 20k miles ago.

The newer 3G's still have an issue with the HFL so you just gotta keep an eye out on it, if you start noticing battery issues, just know that the HFL is a well-known culprit and unplug at that point if you don't want to do it now. If it's already not working, may as well unplug now so that you won't get stranded somewhere when the battery eventually drains.

06 from new, this car is tough on batteries. Costco return policy will keep you in a new battery every 2 years or whenever you see to swapping it out with them. I have had several "issues" with this car corrected by a fresh battery. if you are a costco member collect the benefits

Or slap a battery tender on there if you are able and call it a day. My now 39k mi example drained battery couple times when I first got the vehicle though not sure its from this module or not so it was a catch all solution for me.

to check if HFL is draining, first thing in the morning after the car has been off overnight. Touch the plastic in front of the dome light towards the windshield. If it's warm/hot then the HFL is on and draining
between the dome light and the rear view mirror
