Does the methanol in wiper washer fluid affect paint/plastic?

Guys, This maybe a stupid question but I ran out wiper washer fluid and didn't know which one to re-fill it with. The ones I saw on shelf contained methanol - not sure if methanol affects the paint/plastic?

Any suggestions?

I've never heard of it doing so, at least, not on cars with halfway decent paint. There's only just enough methanol in the washer fluid to keep it from freezing in the winter.

TL's don't exactly have great paint. They probably border on "halfway decent". To answer your question, I don't think it is really something to worry about.

When I say "halfway decent" I mean "better than mid-90's GMs." I've never yet seen a TL with giant patches of paint peeling off the metal. I imagine if you had a car with paint like that, the little bit of methanol in washer fluid might accelerate the damage.
