dealer asking for 130 just to program the key. WOW
so i want to buy an key off ebay and program it someother place. and can i program the remote myself?

just get it the key cut at any keysmith. correct me if i'm wrong. I'm just going by my own gut instinct. there's a method of reprogramming the key, it's pretty simple. basically just stick the key in the ignition in a certain way(should be mentioned in the 3g garage as listed by the mod)

 

Where you at located i did mine switchblade few months a go and everything works perfect just for 60 bucks...

 

you sure? is there an chip inside the key? i have an 05 TL. i'm in CA.

 

Try a different dealer. I've never payed for a remote to get programed.

 

i went to an independant locksmith to have the IMMOBILIZER programmed and the key cut. the key FOB (for locking/unlocking) can be programmed yourself
