Does anyone know if run-flat tires can be installed on the TL?

I'm thinking about swapping out the EL's for run-flats since this is my wife's car...is this possible? If so, is it a good idea in terms of performance?

Thanks.

Run flats may require a special wheel.

Would also help to have a tire pressure monitor.

I think tire pressure monitors are *required* for run-flats. Otherwise they are dangerous.

Run-flats can be installed on any vehicle. A tire pressure monitoring system will be required (the tire dealer can install this easily). Dunlop makes the SP Sport 9000 DSST (Dunlop Self Supporting Tire) in the correct size. These can be mounted on your stock rims.

A run-flat tire will weigh more (additional unsprung weight) and also give a stiffer ride due to the stiff sidewalls that must support the weight of the car. But it is an added peace of mind that nothing else can give you especially if you drive in certain areas or at night in large cities.

Good Luck, let us know how they work for you if you get them.
