Does the 3G TL have one up on the rest of the family?
Ahhhhh I have a great question and Im expecting some great opinions to reply...
Is the 3GTL the best looking TL made to you guys? When I look at the G35 it looks dated but I dont think the TL looks dated even with the 4GTL out.
I dont wanna jump the gun and say the TL is timeless but it still looks better or = to most 2010+'s.
My question is... Is the 3GTL the kinda car thats remember-able? Not a classic but u know just one of those cars...

Wait another 10 years when software for tuning is better and parts are cheaper and we trade up to 4g or 5g TL's then all the ricer fan boys will be buying these cars to put big ass wings on them and destroying the legacy.
They won't be Type R classic but they will stand on there own 4 feet for many more years to come.
And I do believe that the body lines will hold through for at least 5 more years unless auto-makers quit trying to make an easy buck and decide to finally step outside the box.
They keep making these SEMA cars for show but they never end up on the market for sale.
GROW SOME BALLS AUTO-MAKERS!!!! or don't and us Acura owners will stay on top for quality, craftsmanship and pride in ownership for more than many years to come...

Looks aren't high on my priority list, having owned a plain, visually unexciting 1G Integra purchased new. I was considering only the performance and capabilities of the TL (compared to a 6M TSX) when I got it, and didn't realize how good looking the 3G TL was until some days later, while washing it. The "A" emblem on the bar in the radiator opening seemed overdone, but the rest of the TL's exterior makes up for it.

It's funny-on Friday, my dealership said that it's time to move me up to a 4G TL. I told them that they would have to take me scratching and fighting in order to get me out of my 3G Type S....
I'll be in this car for a long time....unless you're buying me a Lamborghini!

The G35 is ehhh to me now, they are so common and around my area youd be far fetched to find a clean one without bumper scratches, door dings, etc... You see them so much here they are nothin special and the interior is so Fin gross to me the interior alone just turns me off of the car.
Love the 3GTL best car I ever owned

Each TL was marketed to a different demographic. That having been said, I think the 3rd generation TL especially the Type S is one of Acura's timeless designs. It will age well.

My cousin has a g35 and he always wanted a 3g TL, then the day that I showed him my AM TL he was pretty jealous. I've seen many g35's around my areas too and honestly I dont think they look good stock (unless you dump a bunch of money into it then well.. any car can look good ) but a stock 3g TL: never gets old to me. I literally thought "wow" to myself sometimes when I see a stock TL on the street, still look good.

You guys are making the TL seem rarer than the G, I think it's a bit more common. I see them both every day, and IMO they're both good designs (but the earlier G sedans are starting to age a bit). Only reason I wouldn't own a G is because resale value is dropping like a rock. A 2003 G35 is worth about the same as my Accord, at least going by CL ads.

I don't know a Honda product that has not aged well. You know why??? Conservative styling last longer than over done curves and bulges. I'd by a clean low mileage 97 Honda Accord or Acura TL/Legend of the same year because their lines look as if the could almost still be sold on the lot.

The 3g tl is the sharpest car on the road...hence the reason i bought one....the g35 or g37 is a nice looking car too but there interior is the deal breaker...it horrible.

The 3G TL is a very slick design. Something about the shape of the headlights never get old to me as well as the "high tech" look at night with the side markers lit. As others have said I to believe the 3G TL is a better body style than the 4G. The rear section just looks bad has almost the exact same side profile as the maxima and is just wayyyyy too big looking. Sure there are a lot of things available on cars these days that I wish the 3G could have such as keyless go with push button start, ventilated seats, adaptive headlights stuff like that, but this car did come out back in 2004. For that time the 3G was well ahead of the others in technology and design.

I agree the G35 as well as the 3 series are aging quite quickly! (new 5 series = HOT!). I like the rarity of the TL and the uniquness of the interior.
Get in an infiniti product or bmw product you instantly know the manufacture as the interiors are pretty much the same throughout the entire line up of cars. You get in to a TL or you get in to an MDX a few items may be identical but for the most part the interior is unique!
I like my vehicles to be rare/unique hence why I picked up a KBP TYPE S 6MT, can't get any rarer then that (except for the red thats super rare! but its not my color of choice)
I sat in my coworkers G the other day, really didn't like it that much, quite boring and he tells me it's a pig on gas (his is an AWD auto thoe).

I think the 3G TL and the 2G IS (IS250/350) will be the timeless marks of the decade (00-09). The Nissans are too bulbous and blah. I do feel the direction Honda is taking with their newest cars is going to put Honda off the map for this decade though (Pilot, TL, Odyessy, Civic, CRV, ZDX, RL, Accord, Crosstour, all = fail).
Honda is becoming an american car company IMO.

Yes.
Especially the 07+ Type-S models. Love to all my Non-S Type TL'ers, but the S is easily one of the most thoughtfully designed vehicles offered by many manufacturers in the segment of luxury mid-size sedans. In my opinion, of course.![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

the only thing I want that the G35 has is a "push" start button...that's all. Other than that, the TL wins in everything else.
I feel like the 3G 07-08 TL (base and Type S) is the BEST model ever. It's the only car I turn my head around for when I see it on the streets.

When I bought my 3G Type S, one of the main reasons was that the car did NOT look like everything else on the road. So many cars just run together-they all seem to look the same. I wanted something different looking-not the norm.

^ that is true now that i think of it. Too many cars starting to look like another (infiniti G, nissan altima, hyundai genesis -among others). The TL is well balanced, Classy, luxurious interior. and if you get the 6MT- pretty sporty. Of course; this whole thread is on ACURAZINE; lol. So, our opinions don't really count. I've owned cars around the same year as my 3G (IS300,E46 330ci)- and i can honestly say. I love my TL

I bought my 3G TL after looking at a bunch of other used cars on the market. I think that the TL is a great balance or speed, performance, reliability and looks. Most of the other cars out there in the same years had things I did not like.
If you compare it to the other generations then the answer is YES....the 3G TL looks the best. As for performance and comfort, I think the 4G TL is pretty damn good. Get past the looks and test drive one of them. They are very powerful and extremely comfortable. And I love the interior of the 4G.

3G vs 4G, i'll play! My basis is TL-S and SH-AWD... haven't driven the base model of either gens. I drive both daily and I truly believe they're marketed to different demographics.. the way the 4G looks, rides, and drives is focused more on the luxury aspect and have lost alot of the sportiness "feel" even though the SH-AWD handles great. 3G is hands down is geared more towards the sportiness than the luxury aspect (everything is tighter and stiffer).
The G (Nissan in general)- looks and feels cheap inside to me. The lines on the G makes the car look really feminine (same for most current Lexus body styles)
