My mind was just blown today after reading this thread. I tried it and it is 10X more comfortable to drive. I am 6'3'' and I have so much more adjustability now with this.

Definitely a lot more comfortable of a driving position with it out. Glad I stumbled across this post!

In the past I had adjusted the wheel up/down; but have never pulled in/out. Now I know what a telescoping is. Thanks.

Damn, this was a hilarious read! Many of the posts poked me to reply "that's what she said".

But seriously, I didn't know the wheel telescoped. I thought it just went up/down. Going to check it out for myself shortly.

I pulled mine out (that's what she said) when I first read this thread and it's so much more comfortable. I remember now trying it before but since it requires a little effort I didn't push it and figured it didn't telescope.

And yes it is unsafe.
My new tires have fixed 99% of the rattle. So I leave it locked. Now I can drive around safely AND sanely... and don't have to choose between the two.

I pull mine out. It's more comfortable closer and can see the instrument clusters more easily.

i heard it was best that you stay as far away from the steering wheel as possible (without making it hard to drive of course). this was for safety measures, as you dont want an airbag blowing up right in your face

I have to comment here about some things I see frequently. It's not particularly always in TL, but very often in Hondas.

Younger kids - I don't know, late teens early 20s. Driving their car with the seat pushed back as far as it goes and then reclined to the lowest setting. So one day I was just waiting in the car for my wife to come out of a store and I saw someone drive past with this seemingly awkward occurrence. Naturally, having all the time in the world I reclined my seat all they back and realized that even if I had an automatic - I probably wouldn't get very far.

For any of you who know what I'm talking about but don't know how it feels. Think of driving your TL while laying in your bed....I swear it's the most idiotic thing ever - I wonder who starts stupid trends like this?
