yea dye comes off within a year or 2 depends on how often u drive the car and how long u sit..... i mean it sticks but its not like the color that the leather n vinyl was dyed with in the beginning. theres different degreees of paint too.... at times we use a different method to match interior colors because the paints that come in a can arent available or they dont match the color correctly. so we do custom dye as well... the custom lasts a lot longer and has diff chemicals in it to bond to the leather n vinyl.

I have an 05 TL with the grey interior. I've decided that I don't really like the color and want to do something about it. I might just buy some really good leather cleaner like Leatherique and see how that works.

Just out of curiosity how much would it cost to swap out the grey leather for the taupe leather on the 07-08. Since it is a more tan color is swapping out the interior panels an option too or can you have them dyed to match?
