A guy driving a Porsche Cayenne flashed his brights at me on Friday night. It was in a community where a lot of old people live, so I wonder if he was just trying to be an arsehole.

LOL the other day a guy in a RRP 3G TL flashes me, as I only had my low beans on with NO fogs, he had his lows on WITH FOGS, so I flash him to show him that my brights aren't on, so he decides to get pissed off and just turns on his brights for 5-7 seconds as he approached me and passed by, then i threw my 7-11 cup of coffee at him and it landed on his windsheild - yeah, well, he deserved it

You threw somethin at him because he turned his high beams on?

You're my hero

I took a trip from north of Atlanta, GA down to Fripp Island, SC. I swear I got flashed 25 times, if not more, over the 350 miles or so. No highs, no fogs - just the regular low beams. It hardly ever happens here in Atlanta, but then again, lots of people have cars with HIDs. I guess the, er, "rural" folks in GA and SC don't see them so often. I started to find it funny after about the 15th time, since I really couldn't do anything about it. One dude in a very large old pickup truck threw something at me, but he missed. Some people are so smart...

I've wondered about those systems.

When you're driving uphill, the lens will point down so as not to blind the drivers coming towards you.

But when your're driving downhill, the lens will point up and blind the drivers coming towards you.

I don't see how it would help except on level ground (to compensate for heavy loads in the trunk.)

Same here, I go to work a 5am and some people still flash their lights but a lot less after I switched my fogs to "yellow"...

Somewhere there's probably a thread asking how to get coffee stains off a car's windshield!

I do not think they are flashing us because of leveling problems or brightness issues. I notice it mostly occurs when I have the fogs on. My theory is that while looking at a TL with its fogs on, they think the fogs are low-beam and our low-beams are highs - because they expect fogs to be positioned lower, like on the RL and the 07TL. However, people who get flashed w/o fogs are probably victim to someone unfamilair with new technology, like many of you have said.
