do people hate your TL?

so - do you guys find a lot of people trying to compare their car to yours and argue you to death ultimately for them to hate your car just for them to prove that their 2001 dodge avenger is better?

I have a friend who is like that... Mr. Domestic car is superior above all type of attitude.

By the way, we're almost twins.

yes, most people argue with me all the time. They say its a gettho knock-off of a bmw and say it s a piece of junk. Also they say that the american car is better in all ways. I just nodd my head and later laugh at them when their car breaks down on the side of the road and say need a lift in my japenese hunk of junk

yep- especially g35 and 3er owners. don't get too much from the domestic crowd though. that might change w/ the 08 CTS coming out.

The TL-S is the around the same price as 328i and G35 with similar features.

In my search for a new car the BMW dealership only had 328i's that were pretty much stock. A couple with the premium package which is just leather, power seats, bluetooth. I wanted a car loaded but the salesman told me most people buying 328i's just want the BMW name which comes in around $32,000. The base 328i has the same luxuries as a base Honda Civic except with leatherette. So ask anyone with a 3 series BMW what options they have. Of course the 335i is a mean machine but comes in around $48,000 loaded with same options as the TL-S.

G35 is nice, but the interior just wasn't for me.

IS350 vs TL-S is a toss up for me. I went with the TL-S because I would of had to order the IS350 with the options I wanted.

Basically the biggest message I hear all the time is...."dude....you are NEVER going to make a racecar out of a luxury car - give it up! Its not a sportscar." In many ways they are right too....but doesnt mean you cant give it your best shot and do the best you can with what you have!

AGREED!.....It's obvious they don't watch "SPEED CHANNEL" (SCCA), they can watch the TSX(REAL TIME RACING) , ACCORDS, whip up on other makes like BMW, NISSAN etc...and win aplenty!, and alway's finishing in the top 5 or 10!.......and if you wanted a sports car you would bought an NSX right!!...so what the point of arguing a POINT!

LOL! I feel like I helped create this thread!

Man, I never experience what you guys do! All I ever get is that's a nice car, and wow, and that looks like a work of art! (though, that last one came after most of my mods)

So no, people love my TL!

In DC/MD/VA, TLs are plentiful, so it seems to be a very popular car in my area!

I think the only people who hate my TL are people on this site who disagree with my modifications. Other than that, everyone who sees it in-person ooohs and aaaahs over it, especially when it's sunny and that chrome is popping.

I don't know if I'd consider it hate, but I had a Lexus ES Owner dog me saying my TL was just an over priced Accord! He abruptly shut-up when I pointed out he was driving an over priced Camry... (BTW, my TL is better equipped and cost less than his ES!)

So far all the neighbors love it......no one has ever said anything negative...... but more importantly I love it.

Some of my friends give me a hard time (joking of course) every once in a while when I roll up in the TL. They think I'm crazy to spend so much on a car - but hey it's only money

My prev car was blue, my current car is RBP, and my next car? Blue! lol Can't convince me otherwise!

But umm yeah basically Infiniti and BMW owners comparing their cars to mine, but its always something like your cars interior rocks, followed by a comment on lack of power lol, but it's all good - i take criticism well and don't mind proving them wrong from time to time

I've never received any negative comments, except when I wanted to race a kid's GTI and some guy was like, "your car isn't a race car it's not meant for speed, have you ever taken it to the track?"

Not soo much. My friends have alot nicer cars than me. They get more gruff than I because of their cars. Its funny though, when it came to who was going to drive to Vegas last (my friend has a 335i) the 2 girls going with us chose my car because of the nicer ride and they like mine better than his. He was pretty pissed and asked me "don't the chicks know my car was more expensive than yours" I just laughed

ive recieved compliments, about two times only. only one instance when someone or a few people hated my car: keyed on the driver side fender, door and rear bumper. $1,275 dollars worth or damage just to repaint!

A 'few' years back I was driving a '92 Acura Integra GS-R, my friend had a '00 Jetta 1.8T, but he was always talking about getting an Audi S4. He would give me crap for driving a glorified Honda, so I would give him crap for driving a stripped down Audi. He didn't like that.
