Do I need to replace brake hoses

Do I need to replace brake hoses
should I replace the brake hoses on my 05 TL with 110,000 miles? The dealer wants $805 which would include a brake flush and says that the service should be performed at 100,000 miles. Thoughts??

that is an insane price for something that typically would not need to be done. upgrade to SS lines and DIY for 100 bucks or so

The only interval I know of is that a brake fluid flush is recommended every 3 years. At least I think that's what the manual says. As far as the lines/hoses I would think that depends more on the environment you drive in and if there's any damage to them. My strong suspicion is that there's no way you need new lines but I/we can't know that sure since we can't inspect your car.

my 2000 Honda accord with 149k miles on the clock is my DD including winter, snow storm you name it and yet I still have original rubber line and its still good. Whatever dealer told you that the car need those service please tell them to buy a new pair of shoes since they are full of shit. Like other mention brake fluid recommended to be change every two years and that shouldn't cost you more than $135 at Acura dealer.

^let alone SS lines are only a $100, and for install maybe another $100 if you know anyone that can turn a wrench. Shop around if you do decide to replace....if you don't know anyone who can help, try posting in the regions section of where you live. I am sure an Azine member would be glad to help, with some refreshments provided!

I own a 98' Accord with 280,000 miles & have NEVER replaced the brake lines. My honda tech says they are fine. Also never replaced radiator hoses either & are original.

I can't tell you if you need to replace them or not, are they leaking, cracked/dried or do the brakes feel spongy? I say get a stainless set, install yourself or have an independent shop do it with good fluid, gamble a few dollars you saved, and put a few hundred in your savings. That's a better use of $800.

My first car was a '96 Altima, beat to shit in the Midwest weather with who knows how many previous owners. It was in at least two accidents and had a rebuilt motor and transmission. There was rust hole under the car and the suspension was completely shot. The brake hoses were still just fine.

Besides a leak, a bulge, or a collapse, there's usually no reason to replace them and if you do it's a $200 job including labor.

Unless like mentioned a line is bulged, collapsed, leaking or I might add: cracked, worn from rubbing on something, kinked, or causing a return issue, there is no reason they need to be replaced. Just have your fluid flushed at a small shop/independent to save a few bucks, and leave it at that.
