Do i have the right to request new rotors
My tl has 2k miles on it. There are vibrations when i brake. Im guessing that the rotors need to be resurfaced. Since the car only has 2k miles on it do i have the right to request new rotors? Once they resurface the rotors there will be way less life on them....

You can try but chances are with the way the dealership is, they will tell you they'll put new ones on and they will actually just resurface your old ones. It never hurts to try

Sure you have the right to request/ask for new rotors/anything. But they also have the right to say no. Anyways the dealership will look at the condition of your rotors to determine if its something that should be covered by warranty. If there are hot spots on the rotors though I imagine them denying any claim.

You can ask anything. However, if the warping is due to abuse, they'll be able to tell and you'll be out of luck. The good news is that new rotors are dirt cheap and it's easy to replace them yourself. There is a good DIY in the garage. Less than 2 hours start to finish for a beginner.

on a brand new car there could be a few things causing a brake issue
Owner diagnosis of needs new rotors without background info is tough!~~
First thing is to let the dealer look at it ,figure out whats wrong and take care of it.
They will either decide these rotors are bogus units and replace them outright with new rotors and pads, or they will resurface them and replace the pads to see if that cures it or not. You have to be the judge of that by driving
When rotors are resurfaced- and acura does them `on the car` so that is really good- they take the `minimum amount` of metal off to make them flat- and thats all.
On a new car thats in the micro mil size shaving- not enough to take 10,000 miles off the life of the rotors or anything like that~
On a old beat up cut up rotor that you can stick your finger in the grooves- thats goona take a bit too much off and those should be replaced
The OP has a shake of unspecified type and speed- it could just be pad glaze from babying the new brakes too much- or overtemp from using too excitedly
Or it could be a caliper issue or tire problem
I would check all the tire pressures- I dont care if the dealer was supposed to do it-
I check the lug nuts too! trust no one~

the DEALER service dept needs to see and diagnose the car!!!!
For all we know, there is an ABS controller problem and thats causing shake~
The OP has an undiagnosed prob- you cant go in demanding parts for things you dont know!
The dealer is not out to screw you- they get paid by acura to fix the little things that go wrong during assembly- get in in asap!!!

Even if you are a mechanic don't go in with a diagnoses. Just present the symptoms & let them figure it out.
If they come back with a story that sounds lame then put forward your own position & reasoning for the cause of the problem.

2000,, thats two thousand miles on the car??- definetly let them diagnose
You dont have to play stupid, just tell them exactly what driving speeds-condition makes it do what its doing
Write it all down for the tech- leave note in car- one page or less.
The Service Writer can only fit so much info on the line, and they rarely get to talk with the tech and give word for word description.
Ask to take a ride with the Head Tech if needed, if only you can make the car act up.
Let a friend drive with you in the passenger seat, as if the tech were driving, can they make it do it and describe?
