No... I'm too chicken to do the middle grill mod... I'm going to do the lower grill mods with a few unique touches of my own...

This secures the bottom of the grill. The top will be attached when you reinstall the bumper. When it makes contact with the mounting points it will hold it in place. This is pretty much it........

It should all look like this.....

I have a 02 TL-S and was planing to do this for awhile but had no time until now. I don't know how much different the 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen front bumpers are but they look really similar. Do you have more pictures of the "poles" sticking out? I don't think I have that.

How will would bondo attach a metal bolt to the plastic grill? I can attach a metal bolt to the back of the grill, bend then metal sheet around and place a washer and a nut to hold it...you think that would work?

i would be a little worried that the bondo may crack since the rest of the bumper is so flexible and the bondo just becomes stiff. wouldnt the paint crack eventually?

When you cut the middle inserts away, doesnt it leave like a white looking plastic look? Your's doesnt even look like it was cut. It looks perfect. How did you do it?

Nice job!

However, I stay away from any DIY project when the "things you will need" section includes:
- Bondo
- Dremel
- Hacksaw

Love your work!! I envisioned the same thing for my grill b4 I even got my car. Minus the carbon fiber tho. Was planning to go with a flat char coal kinda black where u have the carbon fiber, and do the same gun metal grey on the outside chrome border. Love the carbon fiber idea tho, especially since it complements the look around the license plate area on the trunk. love the look tho..nice work ...inspirational!

I ran across this, I just started modding my bumper yesterday... I am doing something close to this but going to keep the "stock look" Just cutting out the nasty plastic honey combs, and replacing it with diamond mesh. As well as blacking out all the Chrome minus the chrome strips by the fogs and the Acura emblem. Here are some shots of today’s progress.
