The headlights look good but I think your headlights are going bad.

Maybe the white ring altered the spectrum of light emanating from the projector?

Planning on doing mine this weekend. What parts do you need to remove from the headlights before baking it in the oven?

I don't think so. If you look at the color of the headlight, it looks pink. This happens right before your headlight goes out.

When I baked mine I removed all the the bulbs, all the plastic and rubber that I could and the ballast. I probably could've left the ballast on, but it was so easy to remove I figured why not.

I say just get some 600, 1000, 1500 and 2000 grit sandpaper and wet sand them. Then get a 4" or so wool buffing pad, and some Meguiars's PlastX. Then buff your headlamps real good. Wipe any residue off with a microfiber towel and some isopropyl alcohol . Then if u want them to stay looking crystal clear take and mix 1 part mineral spirits with one part clear gloss Helmsman Spar Urethane. Mix it up really well then take a blue shop towel and dip it in the mix, and wipe across your freshly polished headlamps. It is a little tricky wiping it on so it looks good, but you can always start over.

I did my Mom's 99 Altima about 6 months ago now and they literally look brand new, and they were horrendous to start with.

Here's the DIY I learned this method from:
