Display Problem

Display Problem
I have a question for any 04 TL owners. In the digital display on the dash the AVG MPH and MPG have stayed at 22 and 17 repectivly. I am wondering if my driving is that consistent or there is a glitch in the system. Has anyone else noticed this?
Also, as far as the XM sattelite, I only recieve about 6-8 of the stations....anyone have a possible explenation for that?
Thanks

I experienced the same problem with the XM radio initially. It turns out that that they preloaded the presets using the auto scan and load feature. When you are in the audio screen the only thing you can select are the preset buttons. So I thought I was only able to get 6 channels at first. Then I found the large tuner button on the right. It should allow you to select the 100 or so XM channels.
If that does not help, I read in one of the manuals that XM needs to be initially setup with a password. This should have been done but may have been missed.

There's no real test to check for mileage accuracy, but you can check the avg mph by taking the trip miles and divide it by the trip time.
As for XM, have you activated it yet? You need to call them to activate or else you just get the promo channels.

XM
XM should have come activated on your car. I did hear on channel 1 (XM channel) that you should leave on this channel for about an hour to have activation complete. Maybe the activation is only partially done???

The way to check MPG is when you fill up your tank, reset the trip milage to ZERO. Then, the next time you go to fill up your tank, you divide the number of TRIP miles by the number of gallons it took to fill your car.
EXAMPLE: Trip Miles :250 Number of gallons to fill tank:14
250/14 = 17.85 miles per gallon.

If you reset the trip computer it will show a different reading, and if you do it on the highway, it should show around 30mpg, for me at around 65mph, it shows 32mpg
After dropping down to city streets, it does go to about 20mpg.

For instant economy, just press reset and it will show instant.
I know, this is not practical solution, and you can not monitor it continually!
