Did Acura over estimate hp on the 04 @ 270hp?

I just went and picked up an 06. I noticed that the est. hp was down to 258 vs. 270. Has there been any reason for this or did acura over estimate power in the 04? I know there was tranny problem with the early 04's, would this be the reason?
I haven't noticed any driving difference in th 06 except that the breakin driving on the 06 seem to be better. The 04 seem real tight for the first 600 miles or so. The 06 seem ready to roll right out the box.
Just came back off a 3k mile trip after a week of ownership. The driving experience was sweet

they did overrate it, well kind of. They overrated it compared to the SAE rating that was adopted by the automotive industry at the end of last year. So they 258 is the exact same engine, just on the SAE rating.
on that note the corvette got more horsepower than last years due to the new SAE rating.

The measurement of horsepower has gone through 3 standards in the last several decades -- there was SAE Gross, then around the turn of the 70's, SAE Net came long. Then in 2005, SAE Net revision was devised. They are all accurate ratings based on their respective methods. You can't look back now and say that the reading in the past was inaccurate or overrated based on today's method. That's like saying 1 mile is an inaccurate measure because it's 1.6 in kilometers.

OK I did the search and checked the older thread.
Bottom line is that we are very happy with our 06 TL
Once the Subwoofer issue is settled this everything will be good.
My phone has bluetooth issues,
but my wife phone works with a hitch
We both own Moto V710's

For those who haven't found it yet, please learn how 270 became 258 in the big TL hp change for 2006 thread. This thread is now
