Denial isn't only a river in Egypt..

After reading all your feedbacks on the new 07TL and the TL-S, i found that many people dislike (although many of you do like) the new TL-S. Honestly, personally, I think that's bullshit lol. it's all psychological, as it was for me. we feel bad cause we just got our 04-06 and it's inane to get the new TL-S. how can you NOT like the new engine, the exhausts, the rear grill, mirror turn signals, etc... you guys KNOW you like the new models but just can't admit it. but i sure as hell like the TL-S and i'm so jealous =[

maybe i'm wrong.. or maybe i'm just the first to admit it. but i sure as hell do want that TL-S lol

p.s. but the rims are pretty damn ugly. LOL

I think when people comment on the new Type-S, they are considering the big price difference and whether it is really worth it. Most people don't think so and I'd have to agree with them. Besides the engine, everything else can be modded better and cheaper.

I love the new TL, but for some reason the rims really annoy me.

I love it but it isn't the car I would purchase for $45,000 I'm actually glad I got the 2004, because I know mine will be paid in full around 2009 so I can see if want to stick with Acura or move elsewhere. Atleast the 2009 makes changes that aren't only asthetic.

Precisely...
I'm not a hater, just more frugal.

27 HP, almost all added at full rpm too, and a few electronic widgets don't account for a $4000 price increase... and at that price point there are some seriously nicer options out there... but this has been beat to death.

Simple.

286 hp is a joke when the g35 has 306 and so does the Is350. It's unimpressive.

The rims you arleady hit on.
The badge is ricey
The grill/front end I do not like. While I like the idea of the fog lights where they are, I do not like how it looks.
The exhaust looks cool as hell, but the car is too slow in my opinion for that aggressive of an exhaust. (reminds me of AMG)
Turn signals are fine

It's called subjectivity.

Gorgeous car but Acura needs to realize that a car like that should not be built on a FWD platform... but yes, I want one...

We are jealous since its not to worth it if you got a 06. I do like different parts of the Type S and hate some other ones but like Giver said.. is it worth it? its better to wait for Sh-awd

thats exactly what i was thinking after seeing these pics. that NBP type-s makes me want to add those tail lights, the rear bumper, quad exhaust, and front and side aspec kit on my NBP.

love the tailights and sidemarkers. the 04-06 TL was definately the best overall value for a $36,000 car. Now it is 07 and new players (07 G35, ES 350, IS 350) are better all around values. The Type-S is overpriced, bottom line. The 04-06 TL was best in its class but the G35 will be taking that title until 09 when the new TL model hits.

shit, you almost at $40,000 for a type-s, why not drop 3 more grand and buy a new bmw 335i?

No but thanks..

I don't like the exhaust. It looks like it doesn't fit on the car. The red interior lights would get real old fast. The HP bost would be nice but that's it. No envy here. If I was going to spend that much it wouldn't be on a TL-S.

I truely love the sleek, sleeper look of the 04-06 TL... I think Acura has lost ALOT of this quality with the 07 model. The wheels suck (Altim SE-R-like), the tail-lights (while hot) are ricey, BUT the fog lights are nice. Although I do love the idea of a larger overall engine, as stated earlier, quality mods can be done at-home to achieve as-good or better results. Overall, I'd still prefer my 06', especially considering that I'll be ready for the '09 re-design!!!

The price increase is $2000 over a Nav equiped standard TL, the Type-S is only available with Nav. The cost of the replacing all the parts on a standard TL to make a Type-S (suspension, brakes, drivetrain) is probably more than $2K not including labor.

meh. Alot of extra money for a car with a few more hp based on a platfrom that really is the antithesis of performance driving. If I were really concerned about performance enough to spend the extra $$$ it wouldnt be a FWD platform.

I love the new look! I know the HP is down compared to the Lexus and Infiniti, but lets wait until the Car magazine's do their tests to see if 286HP is not enough. You know with the New 3.7 in the MDX putting out 307HP, there is something coming up for the 2008 TL. The price is also in line with the Lexus IS350 with X-sport package at $39,461.00. PS love the New color Carbon Bronze Pearl...

The only thing I like are the tailights, headlights, quad tips and the two tone seats....And those should be easy to obtain in a year or so.

All of those should be still be under $1,500.

286hp = 235whp?

A stock TL can do that w/ some simple boltons

Tuned suspension? Tien SS

Its basically just a factory hooked up TL. I'm not hating on it, it just doesn't have anything to warrent the price. Now, if it had SH-AWD and more HP output, i'd deff be in love with it.

i totally agree. Im getting rid of my 04 tl this year and im getting a 335 coupe. if i liked the type s i would get that but i just cant jusify spending 40K on a car thats not that much differant from the kind of car that im getting rid of. The little things like mirrors, taillights, headlights didnt really appeal to me to begin with, the only thing i liked was the 2 tone interior. 286 HP on a FWD platform thats already suffering?? are u kidding me....its just not gonna be fun. But i wouldnt say people are hating, everyone has their own reasons and i think we all justified them. just my

Looks are very subjective. Personally, I'm really not impressed with the type s looks wise. It looks like what it is, a modded 06, and not by the manufacturer...it looks like it could have been modded by one of us. For their best selling vehicle, I expect more from them (well not really, I'm sure 99% of their time and effort is going into the 4g redesign and 1% went into this) To be honest, the foglights up front completely kill it for me. The mesh behind the main grill doesnt help either.

Forget everything they've changed. I'm pretty sure everybody here would trade them all for SH-AWD. And lets just say that awd would go a long way torwards making that price increase worthwhile.

I like it but would agree with paying that much for a FWD car. I love acura/Honda...but when one of my other business take off an im about 27...i'll probably be in the ultimate driving machince of BMW. the back lit red interior really made me think of M3...i do love the two tone seats to...the best thing about the upgrades are that the are factory warrantied unlike tein SS, procats and etc. Overall I like it..but not for the price

The exhaust tips are the only thing appealing, as for the tail lights and the wheels - most of us have tinted/will tint our tail lights out completely. Yes it looks nice in that picture which looks stenciled but in person Im sure it wont be as appealing. The wheels are hideous and likewise most of have/will replace our factory wheels. As for myself I just put 19's on and Im looking to order the tail light trim. Anyone know where to get it by the way besides on eBay and googling the sites (something reperable)? :-P

I'll wait until I see one in person to make final judgement but some of the exterior Type-S treatment takes away from the sleek styling of the 04-06 TL's. Although I wish I had the DRL, the lower fog lights and new grill lose some of the simple elegant look of the 04-06. The wheels look a little overdone, but I do like the turn signals in the mirrors and quad exhaust tips (though that was ripped off of AMG).

Sorry, but there's no denial here when I pass on the MMC of the TL-S. When the 3G first came out, it made me want to buy that car right away! After making all of the mods (for now) on it that I want to make mine stand out from the other 3Gs on the road, I'm very happy with my '05. What I dislike about the TL-S are: red instrumentation lights (that's why I dislike most of the German cars that use that scheme), ugly front fascia, ugly rims, not enough HP, why Acura didn't bother making the side markers blink rather than putting them on the side mirrors, and the price difference. And if the 4G TL comes with SH-AWD, I wouldn't be drooling over it since it doesn't snow that badly down here to warrant it.
