I really hate the 04 decklid spoiler. Anyone know if the Type S decklid fits an 04? The dealer said no. the type s appears to be 1" bigger...more aggressive look.

I did a prototype piece today extending the decklid up about 1.5 inches. Not real happy with how it photographed. Wish there were better options out there.

Problem is it does not include any templates, for drilling holes, your dealership will not drill the holes as they dont have a template. You can get a bodyshop to drill the holes and install it.

3M tape will not hold as the Type S spoiler is more rigid and will pull up within time. Drilling the holes is the best option.

 

x2 with the above post...it fits! The dealer I ordered from had the same issue and before ordering, they first questioned if I had a TL-S!

I had mine installed by a body shop, holes drilled into the trunk AND bolted down as well as taped with 3M...

I suggest you do the same! GL

 

Installed mine a few days ago . As others stated, it doesnt come with a template but making one yourself is very easy, you just have to have the bawls to be willing to drill 7 holes in your trunk . It took me 2 hours to install it, I would suggest getting it done from your local body shop though, it shouldnt $50~70.

Where are the holes drilled? How far from the edge of the trunk?

 

that's a very difficult question to answer; the trunk tip is rounded so it would be hard to say with some amount of accuracy
