Decided on a TL-S!

I finally got to test drive the TL-S in Vancouver, BC and I have to say that all of my concerns were unwarrarnted.

The two toned seats are a lot more subtle than any pictures indicated. I was under the impression that the silver inserts were shiny silver, but when I saw it in person, they were more of a matte dark grey. It actually looks pretty nice.

The ride was tolerable, although it was a bit stiff. The car itself was quite quick. Not as fast as the IS350 or 07 G35, but still pretty good.

The wheels were not as bad as I thought. I didn't like them too much, but I didn't despise them.

Overall, the only thing that I didn't like about the car was that it's a bit too easy to spin the tires if you accelerate too hard from stop.

All in all, I really like the car a lot more than the G35 due to the interior. I have to admit that I like the IS350 a lot more, but that costs a lot more if you fully load it.

I'm going to sign tomorrow for a black Type S 5AT.

Wish me luck!

And thanks to all the members here that helped me with all the great advice.

I was quoted $46500.00 (inlcudes freight, PDI and all that misc junk) + tax. I went with an auto broker and they were able to beat the dealers prices - the lowest at dealer was $47350.00.

If anyone is interested, PM me and can hook you up with the broker.

Either way, it's still way more than if the car was bought in the States!

Oh, and to the Canadians here - the 07TLs don't have Sat Traffic.

He is not from the US. He is from Vancover so its more expensive there. $425k is way to much as well for a Type-S in the states.

Hehe. Exactly.

Just as a comparision, here's what a TL-S would cost you if you paid MSRP here in Vancouver, Canada.

MSRP: $47,600.00
Frieght/PDI: $ 1,400.00
Misc Fees/Levy: $ 280.00
Subtotal: $49,280.00
Tax (14%) $ 6,899.20
Total: $56,179.20 CAD

USD Exchange rate: 1.114%
$49,774.77 US Dollars

Yes, 46500.00 CAD. It's a bit less than 3K off MSRP.

Sorry, that's something that I don't know. I would guess that it's about 44K-45K?

By the way, did the pick up the car yet? I am planning to hit the dealership this Friday for a white TL-S.

Not yet. The car is ready for me to pick up, but I need to move some funds around to give them a bank draft.

I'll have it in 3 days!

Make sure you "drive it like you stole it" as your pulling out of the dealer j/k. Congrats on your purchase, you're going to love it but you will have a hard time not getting on the gas a little here in there while you're in your break in period. I know I did.

Haha Thanks! I know what you mean. I'm actually quite a passive driver. But.... something about a new car that makes me want to go faster.

I know we are talking apples and oranges here, but the $41K I just spent on an '07 MDX seems like a much better value than what the TL Type - S is going for.

I love my TL, but I have to admit the MDX is awesome, and I have the "base' model. The thing feels German - rock solid body structure. 300 HP and SH-AWD.

Is the Type S still going for sticker? I love the car, and don't mean any offense, but is the upgrade worth the upcharge?

I know, a personal decision.

I didn't pay sticker for the Type S. Grats on the MDX - I'll be looking at getting one in a month or so.

Thanks!
I've been wanting to take pictures and post them, but it's either been raining or snowing here. My car has been sitting in the garage for a week now. I only drove it once since I got it.

I was thinking of taking it out late last night but, I couldn't get it out of the garage because of the snow.

Oh well, at least my milage is really, really, really low.

Oh, I was thinking - maybe I can take a picture of the NAVI stuff. Since the one's in Canada are a bit different as we have French and we are missing SAT Traffic and Acuralink. Maybe you guys can point out some other differences.

AND.... the Zagat stuff is useless to us here as it doesn't cover any restuarants in Canada.

It was the G35 sedan. I think he thought it was a reg TL. My son loves to drive in daddy's car. He likes the TL better because he fits better in the back seat w/ his booster seat. My other car is an 03 Ford Mustang Cobra. Already looks for a cat-back system for it but want to keep the quad tips.
