Decided to keep the TL and give it another chance :p

Hey so as most of you know I was trading in my car for an 08 g37 but I listen to everybody opinions and decided to stick with the tl. As most of you know the reason why I was trading it was because of a water leak when it rained that it was going in my fuse box and basically screweing with my car. I took it to the dealer and they called a specialist called water doctor, the guy took 1 day and a half to look for the leak. And they finally found it. It was in my windshield lower front driver side. They took my windshield and everything on that side and sealed everything up. They charged me $450 hopefully I'm
Done taking my car to the dealer. Just thought I should share.

Look at it this way. $450 spent to definitively fix a problem is way better than replacing the car and having to make payments or pay more than you'd get from selling the TL. Happy it all worked out for you.

Shoot-I thought it would cost a lot more. I think you got away good with $450.

Glad to hear you stuck with the TL. I forget, but didn't you mention that you bought a certified TL in your first post? I could be wrong.

I almost got rid my TL too. But I later learned that the dealer was never doing the repairs to begin with and made me believe the car was at fault. I fixed the minor issues myself and its perfect now. I plan too keep my car for as long as i can.

That's why I hate stealerships. Most of those guys are so lazy they don't even fix the problems. Sad to say, I knew a few of them. Anyways, glad you stuck it out to figure out the real problem. And I agree 450 is not a bad price.

While this repair may seem that it would cost more than $450, $450 is A LOT of money to have to spend on something that shouldn't happen to begin with. OP it's good to hear you stuck it out, hopefully you have nothing but trouble free driving ahead!!

Yeah I'm glad i stuck with the tl. I really love this car. Just the headaches it's given me gives me second thoughts about it sometimes. I think the price was a lil pricey for what they did. Basically find the leak and put sealant where it was coming from. Supposedly it was extremely hard to get to the leak. Anyway thanks for all the help

My wife's Cadillac CTS had the same issue when it was new. It took the dealership 2 weeks to find the leak at the junction point of the windshield and the frame. In trying to remove the windshield to repair the leak, they cracked the windshield. It had a new windshield placed at no cost to me as it was a new car, and has been fine since. I also worried about a more persistent leak, but it never happened again.

what was the reason for you to decide to sell it? did the st800 cause the problem?

Because I paid $340 for the system plus $175 to install it. Than I started getting water in my fuse box and I didn't want the Acura dealer blaming it on the st800 so I didn't have to pay for the fix. Either way I had to pay so it was pointless taking it off and I regret it. But if I wanted to put it back in it's $175 more and it's not worth it paying $770 it's not worth it.
