Hey everyone just got a 08 Type S and my friend introduced me to this awesome site! I want to debadge my trunk leaving the middle Acura symbol of course, but I've heard some people say the "Acura & TL" emblem will come off with a dryer, but the "TypeS" badge are screwed in? I would hate to take it off and see 2 holes in my trunk. Anyone know for sure?

Also is there a difference between the 06 & 08 Aspec front lip?

The Acura and TL emblems will come off with a dryer, just gotta heat up the adhesive behind it. I suggest using like... boiling hot water from one of kettle things.. lol I forgot what it was called. But use boiling hot water with some dental floss.
I have a 2004 so I don't know about the "TypeS" badge.
I think the aspec front lip on the 08 is different because of the fog lights .. even the lower grill pieces are different.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong

congrats on the Type-S- and yes the front A-Spec kits are different. The front lip for the S is sick though man!!

 

"Type-S", "TL" and "ACURA" badges all have adhesive only. Heat 'em up, "saw" them off with Dental Floss, remove residue with Goo Gone then a little poilsh and wax.

The middle Stylized "A" is held on with pins/screws.

Are you talking about the stock Type S front lip? Just from looking through this site today it seems like everyone has the Aspec kit. I personally don't care for the rear, but the front looks more aggressive then stock. (my opinion)

use that link, i looked at it before i did mine and it came out great, the "Acura & TL & Type-S" will all come off with this method

This is the A-Spec for the '07/'08 TL-S:


Personally I don't like the Fog Housing and I hate that fat ass line between the lip and the bumper.

The Standard ('04 - '06) A-Spec Front Lip looks MUCH better (IMHO) but I don't think it fits the '07/'08 because of the fogs.

 

ah, you're right! What's up with that huge line and the dip for the fog lights doesn't look to good too. I wonder if that's just a bad install or perhaps someone knows how to get the older front lip on the 08

You buy some two-sided tape and put it back on. Not too hard and there are pics around with proper emblem placement.
