Dealer's "Finishing Touch Protection Package" recommended?

My dealer says their "Finishing Touch Protection Package" means the TL will never need to be waxed and upholstery will be protected against stains or they'll repair the stained area.

Unfortunately, I can't spend weekend days waxing my car like I used to many years ago , so that makes the finishing touch somewhat attractive.

However, in reality, is this package of value?
Will it adversely affect the paint or interior?

Thanks!

i dont think its worth it

you donthave to spend all your weekends waxing

just wax it once every 4-6 months and the wax will last

ive also heard horror stories about acura doing the protection package...such as leaving swrill marks all over the car and scratches.

This package apparently could provide your 04TL some coating over your thin EPA paint, I'll suggest you to do some works for your brand new car if you don't buy any package like this. Don't buy it.

However, I wonder if this is as perfect as they have claimed. Paying much less money for Zaino or other packages could do the similar protection if you have time. IMO.

It's nothing but profit for the dealer. That's why they hype it so much. Read the fine print in the warranty.....and then try to collect....the most you will get is your money back for the package...some guarantee. IT'S HYPE!!!!!!!!
Nothing will protect paint forever....except putting it in a bag.

anything any dealer offers you is like the 'protection plans' electronics stores spam on you. pure profit for them, pain for you.

Just got back from dealer, they did the protection thing even took me back to see it.
looks like a mini car wash that applys wax and polishes it. The shine is ok but when i got home i could see alot of swirls.... I'm opting for the zaino kit as I usually wash my own cars.

few brews and some tunes 'talkin bout the car wash yeah'....

TOTAL BULL****!

These dealer "add on" packages are just profit makers. They put $10 worth of some nameless goop on your car and charge you a fortune.

The deal is that they figure you will forget or sell the car before they have to make good on the warranty.

Some add-ons, such as the paint coating can make paint repairs difficult. Undercoatings are not needed and can clog drain holes actually CAUSING rust. The interior treatmet is nothing you can't do with a can of Scotch Guard.

DON'T DO IT!!!!!

Dealer scam just so they can take more money for you..if the money you just spent on buying a car from them isn't enough.
