Dealer replacing Seat Cover??
Hello Guys, My mom had an 05 TL with 15K miles, since about 8k, her seat has been getting wrinkled and devoloping cracks, and looking like it has 80 k on it, Now she does take care of the car and she weighs 120Lbs or so, so it deff not her, its the quality of the leather, Has anyone else had this issue and did acura replace the cover under warranty and was there an aruguement or no quiestions asked?

i had some discoloration on the driver's seat of my 05. dealer replaced it under warranty- no questions asked. i'm not sure if they would have replaced it if it only had wrinkles and cracks.

My 08 TL-S leather has 3 defects, passenger bottom has what looks liek factory touched up defects, the rear right side looks liek hell the leather is all bunched up and not pull tight and the passenger right side bolster is bunched up, very very dissapointing.

I wonder if I should take it to another dealer to get it checked out?

Yeah i would, When i go Im going to let them know, the car is 2 years old and it has 15 k on it thus its not driven often, The leather should still be mint. If they disagree to replace it i will negotiate to a certain point and if nothing works i will call Acura Coorporate or visit another dealer.

I had my leather seat cover replaced on my '05 with about 25k...the new one looks different in texture almost "non leather".... , anyway it looks better than the original which was badly cracked....

It is a one step process and I love the way it conditions the leather, leaves it feelling as good as new or better. After a few treatments the leather really gets a nice supple feel to it.
I used to use Lexol, which is also very good, but I found lexol always required more work, it is a 2 step process (cleaner then conditions) and always seemed to leave a slight residue.
I did find that with lexol I coudl go longer between treatments, but still prefer LeatherCPR.

Ive been using McGuire's for a few years on my Grand Cherokees leather and it
always worked great. Its a cleaner and conditioner in one. So far Ive used it on
my Acrua once. Looks good so far.

Theres nothing anyone can really do about the leather looking all cracked.....japanese "leathers" are treated with crap when its first produced....its way diff than english or american...lol but american is most likely vinyl. If you guys havent noticed in the 07-08 models of the cars they changed the leather and made it softer and slightly more stretchable. If you go to an upholstery shop and ask to get the leather fixed if u have a cut or a hole in it, rather than getting a new piece of leather stitched in... most likely you cant, the patch glue wont even stick to the leather because of what its treated with. I took the leather out on the sides n had suede/microfiber stitched in instead.
