I bought my 05 in FEB of this year. Its a 6mt and had 33k mi when i got it. It now has 45+/- on the car, as i was forced to drive a lot this year. Since Feb. the car has been at Crown Acura in Clearwater, FL for a total of 10 weeks! I have had many small problems, and every time the car goes in for warranty work, they damage something else. I paid them to repaint the front bumper when i bought the car, as there were some deep scratches. They did so, and while they had the car for a 1 month period, the paint came off of the bumper due to lovebugs. They are saying its rock chips, even after they have admitted that it was bug damage, and it is not my fault, it is theirs. They replaced the back dash and sub, and damaged the door jamb in the driver rear. They took action to "repair" this problem, after i already advised they not do anything about it. They replaced a transmission, never let me look at they clutch, and now refuse to drive the car to resolve my problem because the brakes are worn. I waited 2 months, roughly 5k miles in those months, for them to call me back and have a rep look at the brakes and transmission for issues. the brakes should have been replaced under this

This was ALSO declined, and nothing has been done. They tossed $40 floor mats to put in the new ones when i got the car, never repaid aside from the reciept. I also paid for an alignment, and I got the wrong floormats to begin with.

The car is seriously horrible, the clutch is erratic as hell, 3rd hates life and refuses me religiously, and its overall a pain in the ass to drive. I had a lemon f-250 and the service was MUCH better with them!

I have tried to call the dealer, no one calls back, i have tried acura client services, and everyone brushes me off onto AJ... And guess what, he never calls me back.

Any one have any ideas how i can remedy this problem? I want my money for my alignment, floor mats, and bumper paint if they will not fix them, and i want some sort of compensation for all the damages they have done and the brakes that they made me wait to find out they would not assist. My leather is also damaged from them, and i dont believe anything has been done about that either. The top coat is peeling, however, they have not found a fix for that, along with a passenger window that refuses to close sometimes, and the passenger lock squeals like hell!

I need help anyone, please give me any ideas!!

thanks in advance!
take care Mark

Have you checked the Florida Lemon law? You may have a case.

Seriously consider filing a complaint with the Florida Attorney Generals Office. That's what they're there for (among other things). They will investigate the claim for you and award damages as fit. Also, it never hurts at this point to throw that out at the dealership & Acura Client Serivces. Tell them you're going to file a complaint (if you reach the point where they won't do anything - which sounds like you're there already). If they don't respond to that, once you file it, go in there [in person] and hand them a copy of the complaint you filed. Maybe they will change their tune then to get you to cancel the complaint investigation.

EDIT: Here's a link to the Consumer Protection service offered by the Florida Attorney Generals office: http://myfloridalegal.com/consumer

Good luck

Thanks a lot for the help

I really appreciate it, i talked to client services, which is junk btw... But i went down to the dealer they took care of about 60% of the problems...

They claim they will finish everything when i get the brakes done, which no one will help me with. I need to return for the 3rd gear issue and then maybe i can actually enjoy the car for once!

Thanks again !!! Mentioning some of the things you mentioned above def. hurried the process!

Take care,
mark

Hey Mark,

Glad to hear things are looking up. Definitely keep us posted.

I involved Acura Client Services on my CL about a year ago...they weren't completely useless - although, I was hoping they would have done more, but I can't complain because I came out better than I was before I sent the letter. They had the dealership cover my out of pocket rental car expenses. (Which by the way, when I sent the letter, I also sent a copy to the dealership's GM, Service Manager and Service Writer - this can never hurt if you reach this point, the top guys want to smooth things over as quickly as possible with Acura CS).

Regarding your 3rd gear issue - have you read the threads on here about it? I don't have a MT, but many have reccomended using GM Syncromesh (spelling?) fluid with great results. Check that out too - most dealerships seem to be split on the issue; they either agree and also reccomend it or completely advise against it, from what I've read.

Hope that helps some

Steve
