Dealer Looking At Problems

Brought the TL into the dealer for pop out of 1st gear. Also I had them align the front hood, on the drivers side, last time, and how they did that was by pressing down on the top of the fender to "align" it with the hood! There`s some dents from that, so Dent Wizard is fixing the problem. Also I put a scratch on the bottom behind the rear wheel on the aero kit. It needs special paint so dealer is bringing in the auto body to touch up the scratch. My biggest concern however, is what they find with the 1st gear problem

jyg tl 3, you may want to search on this, there are posts about this, and what the issue/fix is. I think they have fixed it in production now.

Most have been silent about this, but a hand full posted, including the guy who did not get delievery of his car as it was spoted by the dealer durring a test run.

Good luck!

Thanks, the dealer called and said they can`t make the gear pop out themselves. They put a meter on it to record at what rpm its happening, as per the factory suggested, but they can`t reproduce the problem. I know it also happened going down my driveway with a load on it. But to tell you the truth, I`d just leave it alone being its infrequent. Just so they have a record of it for the future.

Question VIN number??

Anyone knows how they generate the final 6-digit VIN numbers?

It looks like Acura doesn't give numbers to cars by their production sequence. Perhaps, it's by the group sequence. For example, my green TL was made on Oct. 10 with VIN 46xx...

So probably some early bird issues/problems would also apply to those car having the higher VIN numbers....

Anyone having VINs between me and danno, but the production date is not between Oct. 7 and 18??

Just curious... Thanks...

That would be me, the 6MT problem guy.

I took deliver of the car December 5th, after the entire transmission had been replaced.

Take a look at my posts in the comprehensive problems thread, as well as this one:
